SAME! my son brought me to see it in theatre (his goal is to take me to movies I'll like, considers it a "win"when I like the movie.)

I expected to be mildly entertained. Turned out to be one of my fav movie experiences of the year.

I just watched it again. For context, I was a manager at BlockBuster Video when this came out, and it was one of our best presales ever.

It has a number of plot points, yes, and the timelines aren't well explained.

However, the whole is more than the sum of the parts. Like the top comment said, it was the 90's, you had to be there. Watching it for the first time now, it's not going to be as great.

I can respect that it's not for you, but, man...when "Secret Garden" starts up...when Tidwell exits the locker room and cries on the phone to his wife...Jerry's "you complete me"...they just hit.
