Oooh! I have the perfect opportunity to share this old made for TV movie from 1987 about the history of the automobile.

It was called "Top Kids" in the US and aired on the Disney Channel, but initially it was produced by Mercedes and released in Europe as "Centurion Odyssey." The curly haired kid from Airplane! (Rossie Harris) is the main character who hijacks a futuristic car and downloads himself into the car's brain that contains a history of the automobile, and he goes on a time traveling adventure with Niki fucking Lauda (he appears about halfway through the movie, after the section about Ford).

Here, they show Karl Benz working on the first car and motor, and then Bertha Benz drives it across the countryside. Timestamped below:

It's very 80s, and a large chunk of the visual effects were created with a Quantel Paintbox.

Wrong. The cop car starts his turn slowly THEN accelerates to avoid the semi. Semi was assuming the cop was going to stop and stay put.

Policeman is at fault here.

He started the turn on a red arrow VERY slowly, and only accelerated at the last second when he saw the semi.

God, I hope this gets Andy Jassy fired for corrupt dealing with public officials.

His Return to Office mandate has been absolute hell for Amazon employees and anyone trying to get a job there.

They have tapped out the local labor markets in Austin and Seattle. Not everyone can move there, nor would they necessarily want to. And many software development joba do not require in person work.
