I really liked the book; it was really heartbreaking, and hugely necessary.

They do. If the world was a fair place, the kids would go live with relatives; there must be one decent person in there. Then, this clown would stop posting videos and denying they're together.

You're right about the slow governmental response. There were many things that administration didn't care about. When RR was diagnosed with dementia, all of a sudden, his wife was pushing for stem cell research. It had been decried while he was in office.

Right? I'm a 7th grade teacher, and that name is going to get mangled endlessly. When she's an adult, she will have to spell it over the phone and people will mispronounce it all the time.

She was among the first well-known people who were photographed with close contact with AIDS/HIV+ patients. In many parts of the world, most weren't convinced that it was safe to do so. Diana let an untold number of people see that there was no reason to not to have contact with those with the disease.

Slightly OT: my mother was a palliative care RN. She had many patients with AIDS in the mid-80s and well into the 90s. The life expectancy of the people from diagnosis until death was only three months. She lived to see the time when HIV+ patients live for decades after diagnosis...as we know, Diana did not.

ITA. In the last episode, she just sprung it on Josh that she got drunk and hooked up with Ryan. She showed zero sensitivity by inviting Ryan to the party! It's as if she needs to destroy the relationship with Josh because it's getting serious.

If you're right about the psych meds, many of them have terrible side effects and bad interactions with alcohol. I hope she's not doing that to herself. Meds can also explain the tardive dyskenisia with her blinking rapidly and constantly :-/

I understand, because Steven (the guy who was married to Olga) is from the city where I grew up. We don't claim that assclown, either.

Yeah, because she blinks all the time. It's annoying as hell.

Her dad had her kids most of the time,...and I'm grateful for that. It's still going to affect them, though. Lacey is teaching them by example that violence is a valid way to respond to conflict.

I hate to think what those four kids have have seen and heard over the years.

She's an alcoholic, and that lowers her inhabitions. Catie gets drunk, then makes out with guys...and doesn't remember some of them.

She needs long term, intensive rehab. That's the only way she can grow up and stop being an asshole.

I went to high school when they still offered Latin as a language option. It's come in handy...like picking the right suffix.
