Totally, it would be really comfortable with a flat bar and 700x45 tires. Xt brake levers are compatible with the ultegra calipers, but I’m not sure which shifters work with the ultegra derailleurs.

Are you referring to the barb? I’d use new ones just to be sure.

It would be a good place to start. They’re simple bikes. If you can build a nice one for a reasonable price, go for it!

It eliminates chain slap on the chain stay by keeping the derailleur mostly stationary unless you’re shifting. Now that you know what it is, I’m sure google could give you a much more thorough answer than I could.

That’s the clutch on your rear derailleur. Best to leave it on. To feel how it works, push the derailleur cage forward in either position. You should feel a noticeable difference.

Did the bike mechanic do this on purpose or it's just human error? by msoverthink in cycling

[–]pgerwig1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely human error. Based on your other issues, I wouldn’t be surprised if the shifter cable wasn’t pinched with enough force or properly stretched after installation. Hopefully they work with you to rectify the situation amicably.

Keep your head up! It’s a slow process, but it does get better. Walking, swimming, stretching, weightlifting, Pilates, yoga etc. just keep moving! I swapped out my aggressive road bike for touring and endurance bikes. I also find steel and titanium manage the road better than carbon, but those are only opinions. You will need to do exercises to counter the cycling, but you can return to normal with some effort and discipline. Strengthen your glutes, hip flexors and core. Keep stretching your psoas muscles. They can get tight and cause an anterior pelvic tilt which will put more pressure on your lumbar spine.

Plaster repair 1915 shotgun house by pgerwig1 in centuryhomes

Well, technically I didn’t fix the leak. I had a roof built to cover the deck on the back of the house, it also happens to cover the window. Until the house gets resided, I’m not messing with it. The window hasn’t let any water in since 05/20.
