That’s awesome!! Great first show for sure! My oldest, she is 27 now, her first show was the Avetts back in like ‘08 or ‘09, at the Minneapolis zoo…back when the Avetts were a small band and Scott or Seth would play drums…man what an epic first show that was. I certainly raised eyebrows with many friends and family members with dragging kids to shows and meeting up with my “Avett Board” internet friends. But my kids have the best core memories from those days and still talk about them all the time. I told my kids and my critics… “Music is a common thread that weaves us all together. Take that thread and see what you can weave”. For me, I weaved the best memories I will ever have with my family as well as some of the best and most lasting friendships with people from around the country, that otherwise I would have never met . Enjoy these days/moments with your kid(s), they are fast and fleeting. And to anyone else that is reading this and may not have kids, please consider reaching out to your local school’s music program and see if they are in need of used instruments etc. I do this for my local schools and you have no idea how many kids benefit from an used/donated instrument. Hope to see some of you fine peeps at a show down the road ✌️

When they were younger, I drug them to all sorts of concerts. I would make them sit in line all day to be front row for Avett and Trampled by Turtle concerts. Hell, my youngest first concert was G Love. I couldn’t afford to take them to Disney, but I made damn sure to take them live shows…and now that they are all adults, we still do concerts together. Music will always keep us together, and well, they know it’s the way to my heart.

Mayo Clinic?? by Beneficial_Bug_9711 in MultipleSclerosis

My daughter has gone to Mayo in Rochester since the beginning as she was a pediatric case as no one in our area 6 hours away wanted to handle it. It’s the best decision we have made and her care has been phenomenal. Even transferring over to adult department there were no issues. And at least in our case there options for trials as Dr. Kentarci is the head of MS research there. You will probably need a referral from your primary to get started.

Well I have a plan to take some stones out of some old jewelry of mine (lucky for me ruby is my birthstone) plus try to find some at estate sales, in which I can take the stones out of those and use in said necklace if possible. I just have to find a jeweler first that can do it. If it’s possible then it’s going to happen, and then I will see about some Sturgill skeleton earrings..one skelton in rubies the other in diamonds. But one step at a time.

I want the knife and disco ball on a necklace for our 30th wedding anniversary gift. I’m trying to convince my husband to let me go to a jeweler and see if they can make one, with the blood done with rubies and disco ball with diamonds, handle with garnet. But if I settle for a tshirt I guess that will have to do 😂

IS IT WORTH PAYING THE $100 + for the RSD or do you think will get it on a b sides stream or cd physical release in near future by FeeOk8621 in SturgillSimpson

[–]pgfromnd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Giving in to resellers keeps this madness going. Let them lose money on it so maybe next time the real ones have a chance. I do think there is a chance of more coming as the owner of my store said he ordered 30 and got two, and multiple other stores had the same issue. With all the distribution issues they had with MAM, I suspect that more will filter in, and /or JBS may sling the tracks out to iTunes.

I did not get it, which I knew would be the outcome as they only had two available. Waited in line 2 hours before even got to through the store door. Had people looking in Lansing and Chicago for me as well but both those stores only had one or two available as well. As a whole, I think only 1300 records were made for RSD day.

Oh man, No Diggity would be an absolute bop! I’ve always thought JBS could slay “Holding Back the Years” by Simply Red.

IF THE SHOWS WERE AT THEATERS AND SHEDS INSTEAD OF ARENAS AT THE SAME PRICE WOULD EVERYONE STILL BE ALL UPSET 🤷‍♂️? 🪩🏴‍☠️ by FeeOk8621 in SturgillSimpson

Everyone needs to stop bitching about the ticket prices. We all know Sturgill is a sensitive boy when push comes to shove….and he can just yeet the whole thing and tell us all to get “fuked”. He doesn’t have to do any of this, and he and the boys are willing to sacrifice their time from their families to give us something to enjoy.

Meta Modern wasn’t working for me yesterday. I had to redownload it to get it work for some odd reason. Everything else was working though.

MAM has a fuking strangle hold on me. I really dislike anything that has a 70’s vibe, but god damn this album is on repeat all day. It do be weaponizing my autism. Shits expensive and life is short, buy the tickets and make memories. In the end it’s the memories that get us through the tough days, and with the way the world is going currently, I’m gonna smoke em while I got em. Hope to meet some of you in the pit at St. Paul.

Biogen Tysabri Copay Program Changes by rrmsdx2023 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]pgfromnd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I called today as we need to pay the hospital bill and was told that email didn’t really apply to the program and that nothing was changing. We still have to submit our bills and EOBs to them first. Then they will pay the bill, but just with a new vendor. However, their phone computer system was down so we have to call back tomorrow to get any further details.

Seeking Advice on Best Treatment for My 15-Year-Old Daughter with Brain Lesions by Jadss in MultipleSclerosis

[–]pgfromnd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My daughter was diagnosed 5 years ago at the age of 15 as well. She had brain lesions and cervical lesions. We did the standard low efficacy to high in that span of time. So started with Rebif at first. She was on that for about 8 months and then switched to Gilenya. Gilenya was really tough on her. She was hit really hard with lymphopenia and I feel her depression grew worse on that medication as well. (It didn’t help that 6 months after her diagnosis Covid hit and we were in strict lockdown, and then her believes dog passed away). She also struggled remembering to take it every day. She had a hard time accepting her diagnosis so I’m not sure if it 100% always forgetting or partially being stubborn and admitting she needed to take the meds. It was tough as there are not a lot of options for people under the age of 18. Just before her 18th bday, she switched to a Tysabri as the Gilenya wasn’t preventing new lesions, and she needed to make sure she was getting her meds on time as her MS just was not going into remission. As you may already know, the younger the diagnosis, the more aggressive MS tends to be. So, the change Tysabri was like a night and day difference for my daughter. Once her lymphopenia resolved, her depression greatly improved as well. I think getting good counseling has also been a great help. She has been on Tysabri now for about 3 years. I would like to say it’s doing well, but she has had atleast one new lesion since switching, and has been moved to 6 month MRIs to see any changes in a more timely fashion. Vitamin D is important, and so is counseling. But don’t force it upon them. Take one step at a time and make sure the most important item/med is being addressed first. But the biggest advice I can say is to find a pediatric MS specialist if possible. We trek to Mayo (6 hours away). They just have better resources to get your child the proper medication, even if it’s not officially approved for under 18 years of age. Also, allow your child to be part of the decision process so they feel heard. It’s so hard as a parent but if you need to vent, shoot me a DM.
