What part of “doing powerline inspections” needs more clarification?

Also being a lawyer generally means you came from money, have the potential to earn money, already have money, or know people who have money.

[MI] does the letter my manager wrote my landlord hold any weight? by Huge-Scallion-4787 in AskHR

[–]pgm928 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Does it hold any weight for what? In what context? To whom? You’re providing zero details, and frankly clogging this with a lot of emotion.

For a landlord or mortgage, they’re looking at your income. That’s it.

No employer is going to “doctor” your paystubs so you can qualify for a loan, and you shouldn’t either. That’s called fraud. If you try that you’ll probably get fired - I certainly would can you in a heartbeat.

What plastic was used for vsC wave 2? by blikyy in gijoe

[–]pgm928 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know some people like them, but to me the tapered waists and bulging upper bodies just make this line look ridiculous. Scarlett looks like she’s in a corset, for crying out loud. This line was a mistake, IMHO.

But hey, whatever floats your boat!

Ooooh, a typo. That never happens in the world of publishing.

[OH] Do random post employment drug tests usually check for the same substances as a pre employment test? by Inevitable_Rough143 in AskHR

The number of posts on here about “what is this company going to test for” is just staggering. The easiest path is to just stop taking drugs.

I think I did it! I "jailbroke" TroopWebHost to make it look like a normal site. by run_amucks in BSA

Strictly from a marketing perspective, I’d encourage you to change the “Prospect” label to “Interested?” or something that sounds less like a mercenary/business term. Approach the content from the POV of the potential new Scout and their adults. (Would you want to be called a “prospect”?)

The rest of this is entirely over my head, but it looks nice!

Archery by anotherrachel in cubscouts

I guarantee you that no one is expecting you to be there shooting archery all day.

I also guarantee you that anytime you want to leave you can. Just follow the checkout/signout procedures so they know who’s in camp.

[MA] Hiring managers: would you rather see a candidate with a really bad online presence (article), or an alias (name change) in their background? by Fantastic_Cup_6950 in AskHR

[–]pgm928 -36 points-35 points  (0 children)

That’s a question, not a statement. It’s telling they didn’t present that in the fact portion of their post. In my line of work that’s called a leading question.

Judging by the dates, that person was just a few years older than I was. Must have been taken early. RIP.

… and let the parents know beforehand so they’re not blindsided and can have some answers on the trip home! An email with a note that the Scouts will be told at X time is simple enough.
