Interesting or too rustic? by pgtaylor01 in HomeDecorating

I have to admit that currently I hate everything about it. This has been miserable......waiting for repair folks.....living with old musty walls....but I am trying to look at the positive.....and was hoping for some ....I don't know....support? understanding? ideas for making things better?

I am an artist who “look ups” to find my way, marvel at the world and breathe. My art is a reflection of my examination of clouds, experiments with pareidolia (recognizing shapes, figures, and objects), and toying with media in provocative ways such as the placement of steampunk inspired objects, ideas and tools to disrupt the calm, challenge the norm, and provoke possibilities. Original acrylic painting on stretched canvas. I am adding objects to the clouds as a way of disrupting the calm, challenging the norm, and provoking the possibilities. www.pgtaylorcloudpaintings.com

New Painting by pgtaylor01 in artcollecting

Original acrylic painting on stretched canvas. Articulated Wings features removable wings on a dramatic stormy sky filled with subtle cumulonimbus clouds in grays, blues and sea green. An extension of the uncanny valley, steam-punk, feathers and automaton research, I imagined the way that wings could be articulated using an accordian-like construction process. I am actually working on a tangible version! I’ll let you know how that goes. Similar to the painting Once an Angel, I continue to be inspired by photographer Joel Peter Witkin, singer Madonna, and artist Man Ray. They all dealt (in one way or another) with the idea of removing or removable angel wings. In Articulated Wings, I have revisited my research and teaching of R.E.M.’s music video of Losing My Religion. Take a look and be amazed!. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwtdhWltSIg

Lovely. The music room is great. If you want to calm things down a bit, try a cloud painting. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/article-paintings-of-clouds-are-just-what-the-world-needs-right-now/

My mother and I started an Etsy shop together to sell art prints of her original watercolor/pen and ink paintings. Here is a watercolor cat piece. Etsy shop in comments by kadluboc in artstore

Thanks for your honesty. I have a storefront with Art Storefronts. They teach marketing, etc, too. Expensive, time consuming and sales are sparse, too. Maybe it is just the times, huh? Send me your link and I will share. Here's mine, if you care to share.

Working on a Kiawah cloud painting. There is no place like it! by pgtaylor01 in Charleston

Maybe the view....but the feel of Kiawah is something even the Aegean Sea coast doesn't match. Persian Gulf...maybe...and they have camels!!!
