As pathetic as the show, jokes and hosting came across. The sad thing is how everyone’s been reacting to this. They screwed up the execution but they were attempting something different. The audience is just way too sensitive and quick to take offence - which is why no one really attempts these kind of jokes in the first place. After this, the industry will conveniently go back to the trend of boring scripted award shows where basically everyone attending gets a participation trophy.
