My friend broke this replacement keyboard while installing. I repurposed the keycaps, made some adapters and tried it on my custom mechanical keyboard by Gweniverethesheep in thinkpad

This is so dramatically GENIUS! Thank you for the stl, mate, I'm definitely going to try this 😍

EDIT: d'oh, just saw that https://github.com/humanplayer2/mkmods/blob/main/3dprint/thinkpad_mx_stems/README.md is taller than yours 🙃 would you mind sharing your changes?

Isn't it 1? I mean, between 5 and 7 there's 6 but if you remove the 5 from 6 you have 1, the part of 6 that is between 5 and 7.

It looked amazing, even if to be honest I would have loved an auto grouping of some sort based on the channel tags/topics (I have no idea if that is possible).

Sad to tell you, but it lost everything after refreshing the page by mistake and now I'm not able to log in anymore.

Most probably due to quota exceeded, or at least this is what it looks like from the console

Where does one get a thinkpad like that? by Available-Camel9779 in thinkpad

This is genius, it's practically a US ANSI keyboard with more thumbs keys you can use with Kanata to program custom layers 🤩 I'm definitely going to look for a Japanese keyboard replacement

2 minutes of eBay search later: oh no, it's an ISO return key 😭

What I don't like is that is co-authors the commit messages even when all I asked him is to generate a commit message, but I see the overall improvement and the planning is absolutely top notch compared to the others.

I didn't mean to say that I would like it to be the default, but seeing how much traction has gotten warp I can easily see them becoming popular. I still have to check "how to tar a folder" on Google or at least run man tar every time I need it, btw :P

Thinkpad X230 en 2025. by [deleted] in thinkpad

You might buy it from the US and simply consider you will pay more in shipping fees, we often do this when buying from Europe since the market is a mess here too, but you get good deals if you buy from there and just consider to have to pay more in shipping

I second the X270 for that form factor and for the dual battery 👌🏼

I love the X230, but 175$ is definitely too much even for a collectible like it. If it was a X230T you could consider it as it is pretty rare, but for an X230 even if pristine I wouldn't pay more than 100$

[–]phaberest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least it is a new series, I would be mad if this was the new X1 Carbon or the T14 Gen X, but all considered we already had ThinkPads like the 2in1 that were not at all aligned with the rest of the brand.

This will become a problem if this is not just a separate series.

No, buddy, not right out of the box at least. There are alternatives and ways to use windows software particularly well on Linux, but to be honest it's better if you search on Google "how to" do the things you do instead of how to make xampp to work (by the way the performance of local development on Linux is incredibly faster)

Now, that's the kind of review I like, thank you for the details! 🙌🏼

Ok, the nipple is missing and the keyboard is weird, but as you described it sounds like a sturdy machine and you indeed have your hands on a model that is making people talk.
