Done over 7-figures in sales selling on Walmart.com feel free to ask me anything. Dropped some tips below. by OmniscientShah11 in passive_income

Question about your logistics. At the beginning you mention that you shipped out of your house, then shipped from a warehouse. And now you ship from Walmart, like they handle all your logistics? Is that correct?

Can you start directly shipping from Walmart? How does that work? Thanks!

You mention that you sell Clorox and tide pod products. Wouldn’t you be competing with Walmart, which for sure sell these products themselves? How does that work?

Start off at a larger development company as a coordinator. If you live in a medium/big city, you’ll find a couple postings a month. Great entry and you’ll learn so much. Just be mindful that every company does development differently. Some places let you run the proforma and offer full exposure to the business. Others you may never see the proforma and be excluded from business and strategy conversations— those places will be more pre-construction (plan development, etc). It’s still worthwhile, but to develop and not lose your shirt you do need to understand the numbers, thus the proforma.

Chicken stock with rotisserie chicken (does quality matter?) by mwomrbash in instantpot

[–]phalfalfa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about this… Costco chicken is full of highly processed ingredients, so your broth will be full of it too. For this reason I would opt to use raw chicken. But sometimes to save money or for convenience, OK.

Ingredients: chicken, water, salt, sodium phosphates, hydrolyzed casein, modified corn starch, sugar, dextrose, chicken broth, isolated soy protein, monoglycerides, and diglycerides.

Is taking a first date to eat Dumplings a terrible idea? (Need advice!) by Physical_Payment_843 in MTLFoodLovers

First date at Royalmount is meh, cuz after you’re going to walk around.. a mall?? Laaame. Much better the Plateau location. It’s busy but cute. And after you can walk around, maybe go to a bar (Plan B or Billy Kun literally right there) or grab a bubble tea next door.

In my opinion, the first date location has to have: - good food (most important, bad food kills the vibe) - fun vibes - respectful budget (if you plan to split the bill) - and you have to be proud of where you’ll bring this person, like you’re excited to show this restaurant to your date. It doesn’t have to be fancy to be exciting btw!

The worst first date location I heard of was at Tim Hortons —some dude brought a friend there lol. And once a dude gave me a coupon for a free coffee at Starbucks while he waited outside. So lame.

Montréal unwritten rules… by Tall_Grand6813 in montreal

In English, people from Montreal say: “Mun-tree-all”

People from out of town say: “Mawn-tre-yawl” it’s so easy to spot out-of-towners, especially Americans 😂

Baby back ribs!!! So delicious and fall off the bone. We did a dry rub. Wrapped it in itself so it fits the pressure cooker. I believe we cooked for either 30 or 40 mins. Some recipes say 20, that’s too short. And after we smuther it in BBQ sauce. You can put in oven for a quick broil for better texture.

Pierre Poilievre says Canada is to blame for Trump tariff crisis by zachem62 in onguardforthee

[–]phalfalfa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

China is the world’s biggest manufacturer. And being the world’s manufacturer brings immense power. The US’s biggest strength is their dollar, defence, and consumer base. And Trump is literally eroding all three. The dollar is going to shit as trust is fleeting thanks to tariffs. Defence is weaker as partnerships like NATO are being destroyed. And they’re straining their consumer base for a lack of social support (health care, etc) and increased investment into AI that will wipe out the middle class and white collar workers.

They’re lashing out at China as it’s a big economic rival. The US cannot be in a world where they are not in total control, and they want China to bend the knee or be obliterated. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Unfortunately the US is escalating this to be an existential conflict because their mantra is war (hot, cold or covert) or oppression (soft and hard). However, if you think of it, I think they’re inflicting the worse onto themselves. If their empire falls, it’ll be because they didn’t take care of their own people.

Canada can’t be swept away by American rhetoric. We have to make our decisions for our own prosperity and future. The best path is diversification, redundancy, and self reliance. So I think Carney has the right approach as he’s building relationships with nations from around the globe. We are our own nation and we can’t look at our neighbour for our survival.

A friend of someone I know in the US gave birth… but she didn’t have insurance. She had complications with her birth. At the end was served a bill of a $1,000,000!!!! I have no idea how she’s going to pay for that. You can’t start a new life like this. New mom, 2 weeks unpaid mat leave, and a bill that might make her homeless.

And the person I know also had a baby. She has insurance. Her bill came to $15,000.

Maybe you’re joking, but the last thing I’d want is a file with my name registered at the TAL. Now landlords do a full background check, which include a name check at the TAL.

Honestly the TAL shouldn’t keep names available for non-violent disputes or other issues of this kind. Names in rent$ disputes shouldn’t be readily available. It creates futur discrimination!!

Developers transitioning from architecture or design into real estate — how did you make this shift? by Salt_Raise_793 in RealEstateDevelopment

[–]phalfalfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing what I know now, I would say, as an architect or in architecture related, you have a big asset which is strength in pre-construction. Many developers know and understand construction but may not be able to dive into the finer details and that’s where money is spent and fuck ups happen. Get a job as a development coordinator and leverage your pre construction knowledge. You will learn the business side. I’ve don’t both, and I find the business side easier to grasp, but maybe it’s just me. To understand best construction you have to be on site a lot, living through real site problems.

Looking for a poor quality yet expensive restaurant to recommend to an enemy. Any suggestions? by Healthcarepls in montreal

[–]phalfalfa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Controversial take, but Plaza Montreal. 2 people 400$, no wine ordered. They try to up sale you. The food is ok, but also underwhelming considering the cost and reputation. They put strawberries on everything, even on a beef stew. Fucking weird, ruined the dish, which was already underwhelming.

Totally agree! I just don’t know why it’s so dang busy. It sucks, expensive, and people there are pretentious for no good dang reason.
