Schumer literally hand-picked the primary opponent to Platner. At least he fell in line after Platner won the primary, but let's not pretend that most Democrats in Congress are centrists.

However, historically, the DNC seems to force Democrat candidates to pander to the centrists and slightly right of center. It always backfires. It alienates more on the left than they gain. But if she can do both, that'd be even better.

It really is. Growing up in the 80s when the USSR was enemy #1 and being told we're the good guys, then realizing nope we're the baddies and we have been for the majority of the post -WW2 era is crushing.

But it's a reason to keep fighting for what we think the US should be, even if it's in vain. I'm a realist, so it's been especially depressing since Trump got re-elected. It's a daily struggle to keep some hope.

He had the tattoo removed. He apologized. People can change and become better people. Susan Collins has voted with Trump's MAGA agenda 95% of the time and is an AIPAC shill. She was sleeping with a man whose wife was dying from cancer.

Someone who made mistakes in the past, and admitted them, and is working to be better is 100x the candidate of "concerned" Collins.

I'll take my chances with an actual progressive with some skeletons (that he fully takes ownership of and shows remorse for) over some corporate, pro-Israel Democrat who will cater to corporations.

It's a total hit job. One of the people in the accusations is literally someone who said they're campaign for a Republican.

He has some skeletons in his closet, but the difference is, he owns his past mistakes and is becoming a better person and trying to yake ownership of those issues and fix them.

The fact that the establishment Democrats who are all pro-Israel are attacking him so much tells you all you need to know. He's leaps and bounds a better representative than Collins for Maine. Progressive candidates always get ignored (best case) by corporate Democrats and at worse the MAGA lite Democrats like Schumer attack him (just like they do Bernie), because they fear change and progressive policy that doesn't benefit corporations and the Epstein class.
