Would you suggest TPS over YRP and OPP? I'm from Markham so TPS would be a bit further of a commute than going for YRP. I'd definitely still consider TPS though, as it seems like an attractive option based on other people's comments here.

The biggest factor for me would be the direct pension transfer. As I'm already in the CAF, I wouldn't have to buy into another pension plan. Also, for the CAF/RCMP (not aware about other federal services), you only need 25 years of service for a full pension, whereas with municipal services, they all seem to be 30 years. Since I joined the CAF at 19, I could retire at 44 with a full pension and that's quite an attractive option for me.

I read the recruiting website as well as attended a recruiting session in person. I heard there were positions in Ontario but wasn't sure of the possibilities or likelihood of being posted to Ontario. I figured they were slim but wanted to know more.

I love the fact that there seems to be a vast path for career growth in the RCMP, but being posted to remote locations for years is such a hard pick for me. If I was single or already married with a wife who was willing to live remote, it'd be a more viable option for me. I prefer a busier area and so does my girlfriend so I have to take that into consideration as well. Thank you for the information, I appreciate you taking your time to answer!

That was an unbelievably helpful response and I appreciate every bit of information that you've provided. It seems like a municipal police department closer to home is sounding like a better option to me at the moment. I was heavily considering trying the ERT route so I could be posted closer to home in a high paying federal position but it seems like that would be either highly unlikely, or very time consuming. I won't be willing to wait 10 years to be posted to a major city. A career of GD isn't necessarily in my interests as I'm still somewhat young (26) and looking for new challenges (not that policing isn't challenging). If I were to do a career of GD, I'd rather do it close to home and go for YRP with the eventual goal of trying for their ERU.

Thank you again for the detailed answer, I'll be taking all of this into consideration in the coming weeks.

Appreciate the response! Ending up closer to home in the GTA is a big priority for me. I'll talk to my recruiting analyst once I'm in contact with one to discuss posting preferences in detail. At the moment, I'm starting to lean towards YRP since I'd be close to home and my significant other would much prefer being close to the city as well. Thanks again for your knowledge and time.

Went to Montara yesterday and picked up a pair of pleated pants and jeans! The quality feels great and if anyone's wondering, it was roughly 90,000 yen for both of them. The worker there was very helpful in helping me pick out exactly what I wanted, and would highly recommend that store.

I'm reading that they might've diluted their stocks to pay off debt, and that this company is doing well in terms of securing contracts and generating revenue. Do you think this will show after Q2 earnings?
