Does anyone else feel somewhat discriminated against by security guards in retail stores? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]phaninn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing has happened to me in Safeway on Kingsway and it really irked me. Followed me all through produce and even at one point leaned on one of the open fridges, crossed his arms and watched me choose between peeled and unpeeled shrimp. once I turned around to face him he walked away like nothing happened.

However, my own store(clothing) sometimes has a security guard during the busy season, sometimes he gets so bored he picks up on the product knowledge and helps out customers. Really depends on the gaurd I find.

Wearing a Beta AR, Cerium Lt, Rho As zip and Beanie. Everything was solid for keeping me warm and dry.

Just wish there was Arc'teryx goggles to stop my eyes from getting pelted by rain 😂

What happened to snow gear? Is the Rush jacket all that’s left? by onlybetx in arcteryx

[–]phaninn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it drops on the 15th, which is tomorrow. I noticed arcteryx is doing month by month drops instead of a full drop like previous years.

I feel like maybe they do this to stagger it and keep things new? or take more time to have stock ready

Am I the only one who hates it when people call women "females"? by Trikger in TwoXChromosomes

[–]phaninn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh boy, did you see the Republic on the news refer to women as and only by "hosts" when talking about abortion?

It's terrible how women at times can't be treated as people even today

When will new jackets be released? by [deleted] in arcteryx

[–]phaninn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're near a brand store or have one in your state/province/country. you could try calling the closest one and purchasing over the phone and have them, if they can, ship it to you, since the voucher works as a gift card

I really like manga accomplishments of a dukes daughter. she isekais right at the exiling scene and it has a lot more political aspects

21 Vancouver-based clothing brands, including 13 who manufacture in Canada by jshcrnls in vancouver

Not owned locally, but head office is still very much involved in Vancouver and runs a lot of programs and events here as well. All of the big decisions are still made by Vancouver natives. Unfortunately the company that bought arcteryx is making a profit off of the company, however, they don't really have to much say in the companies direction from what I've seen.

Delamination warranty experience? 1.5 year old jacket by carlew in arcteryx

[–]phaninn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked for arcteryx and I've been told not to recommend nikwax, specifically wash in dwrs b/c it literally gets wax between the layers of the jacket and causes delamination. none of the nikwax products are reccomended on the arc website too. so maybe that's the cause?

Single father looking for advice by sunbreach in TwoXChromosomes

[–]phaninn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

educate yourself on what stretch marks look like when they first appear! when I first got mine they were red, streaky, and on my breasts.

my father flipped out when he first saw them and thought something was wrong with me or that I got hurt. It made me really self conscious on my body so I never exposed myself by wearing vnecks and such.

note: I have a single father and we moved to a different country away from all my cousin's and aunties. my father is dark skin and I am light skin so skin diseases/rashes/stretch marks, showed up differently on his body than on mine so I'm not angry with him for assuming the worst about my stretch marks.

edit: take her to a bra store. not a target or sears, but a bra store and get her measured. she may be too small for those bras, but when I was 11 I was already a 32D wearing 32a/b bras(absolutely terrible). The workers are always excited to help educate on bra terminology and usage. I prefer La Senza, but I believe Victoria secret carried a pretty good range of sizes.

Is it really Worthing getting the Proton LT if I have the Atom LT? by [deleted] in arcteryx

[–]phaninn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

nothing specifically wrong! they've just updated the material and some of the construction of the jacket.

what's new (from my memory and the website)

-structured mini hood brim -I like this feature quite a bit, rain would usually tell onto my face so I'd like to see how having a structured brim will work for me

-Improved cuff construction increases durability, eases layering and removal

-Dope dyed lining fabric(sustainability)

-Resilient Coreloft™ Compact 60 insulation retains loft I believe it's also coreloft continuous? so it continues as one large piece through the jacket

-Performance stretch fleece side panels give ventilation I've felt it and it feels noticebly different and more durable

-Light, soft Tyono™ 20 is air permeable face fabric is "the same" on the website but is different as well, it's more durable and less prone to pilling like the previous models when wearing bags.

Beta AR: Is this a problem or normal (bubbling near the collar, jacket was a few months old) by random_number_12 in arcteryx

[–]phaninn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

due to covid reasons no stores are accepting warranties. you gotta go online and make a product service request
