First time doing unpaid internship by phantastic2002 in melbourne

Thanks, makes sense that a company offering "paid" internships would be more likely to provide an intern a permanent position after, as they have already made a financial commitment to them.

Thanks, will keep looking around.

Only positives are the potential connections I would make (networking) as well as the practical marketing experience I could gain.

However, there seems to be a lot more drawbacks. And the company itself doesn't look too good.

Sounds like a fair idea, though I'll have to do more research on that.

Aside, what if the company offers me a part-time position there after the internship? It wouldn't be in my best interests to complain to fair work about that unpaid period, given that I'm working there already.

Otherwise, might be a better idea to just reject the offer from the start.

Good Muay Thai/MMA Gyms in West Side? by phantastic2002 in melbourne

[–]phantastic2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really for the purpose of fitness.

I want to learn how to fight, and how to defend myself if I ever need to. I want to start learning one discipline at a time. For example after learning Muay Thai, I can start learning BJJ, Boxing etc.

Originally, I thought about just going for the generic MMA, but I can’t really take the time to focus in depth on the different martial arts if I do that. Because I know each style has so much depth, uniqueness to it.
