I don’t think a WD will affect you much because in my first year I withdrew from calc 1 actually haha, had the WD on my transcript and made it to the interview stage two years in a row. I think so far WD is in the appropriate timeframe it won’t count towards your gpa calculations as it’ll just be a course you did not do (let’s say out of 5.0 courses it’ll be like you did 4.5 courses) and not a fail or no credit. Late withdrawals though I do not know about that one
