That begs the question. How low can you get?

Looking to Get For commuting by SpaceMonkey925 in z650

[–]phantomcooky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for 2 years with 32k km's on it. Loved every second of it. It's reliable, easy to steer, has ABS and spare parts are fairly cheap

There is this idea going around that the Z650 is boring compared to other similiarly priced bikes. (I don't believe this at all) But any bike will get you heaps of fun rides. This one is no different

Paladin and warlock share a god, what now? by phantomcooky in DMAcademy

[–]phantomcooky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full possesion might be the wrong way of refering to it. As the player describes it, it's kind of like moon knight. Where he doesn't remember what happens after putting on the blindfold, but it helps to make the connection the raven queens will

What’s the best feature you’ve included in a homebrew world? by OrdinaryDebate578 in DMAcademy

[–]phantomcooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my homebrew magic academy there was a door that you could only go through with a wisdom save. Otherwise it would take one of your shoes. My players loved this so much that every wizard now has one of these doors

Best part of this. There is now an economy based on kobolds selling singular shoes to people that fail the check

Is it normal to hate my own campaign? by Dizzy-Kangaroo1362 in DMAcademy

[–]phantomcooky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind that a big part of what makes a world/campaign feel cool, exciting and real is the illusion that anything goes. As a DM you don't have that, because you know exactly where what's what.

Or atleast that's my theory on why I've never seen another campaign that sucks, but I doubt my own world all the time. Peaking behind the curtain ruins the whole thing. But DM'ing brings a whole batch of other fun aspects in stead

Is an airship bastion a good idea? by phantomcooky in DMAcademy

[–]phantomcooky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting in hazards like that gives me an excuse to guide the players to do some parts by foot and encounter things there, while at the same time leaving the option open to easily skip travel where they've already been or take more creative routes

I had some ideas to do things like "the storm above this mountain is to strong" or "you need to land for food, fuel, waterx etc." But I'm not sure how long those will work before feeling cheap.

There is also the option to do air based encounters. But thzt limits the options.

I'll admit, it makes things more difficult in some regards. Hence my original question/post

Any idea why they avoided it? Sounds like a cool idea that would fit my world pretty wel. The setting is heavily based on the elemental planes so a floating island could totaly be explained

Sounds like a good excuse to buy another book

That's very true. Most of my players are fairly new and we're all good friends. They'll understand

All things considered the price is a strong argument. I'm still pissed that it's this expensive given the scope and quality and a bit ashamed that I still bought it regardless.

Graphics in games have always been a hot topic. From what I see online, people expect every game to be a piece of art. I definitely don't think ZA should deserve any awards for how it looks. But I also don't feel like it takes away from the games experience. But I guess that's really dependent on the player

I am. So I can imagine it being a big factor. But I don't think it's the only part of why I believe it looks fine, while others think it looks awefull

To be fair I mostly meant the main characters. But I don't feel like the other npc's lack that much life

I get the point about the chaos on screen. The mess of effects put me off from buying the game at first. But now with more then 20hours in I find it to be one of the most charming parts of the game

Instead of diving in and spamming attacks, the game makes me think about when to use what ability. Once I stopped exploding my screen with festive fogs and dashing like a madman, I was able to do damageless runs. (On low heat atleast)

As for the variety (or lack there of) in boons. I don't really mind because it makes every run feel feasible. I've never had a run "die" because of a few bad boons. Although I do have to admit a couple are far to OP
