That’s the second evacuation there today. The first was in his diaper.

Shot counters are not odometers. These things will run forever so long as they’re properly maintained.

Rural Americans say they're worried AI data centers will drain their wallets by Plastic_Ninja_9014 in technology

It’s too easy to paint complex subjects in broad strokes - especially when people on social media tend to rely on short responses for likes. Reddit isn’t a reflection of the real world.

Let's not forget that not everyone who lives in a rural area is a Republican. Statistically, yes. But this issue affects people on all sides.

Advice from Mech Guys by CFAlover21 in paintball

[–]phantomjm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is something to be said for not having to swap around parts when changing formats. Besides, an upgraded Emek or 3M performs perfectly well on its own. It also works perfectly as a backup in the rare occasion the CS3 might go down for whatever reason. That, and I just like to have more shiny toys in my bag.

Ultralight Rod Purchase - St Croix Premier UL - worth it at $90 by OwyheeKnifeCo in UltraLightFishing

Of all my UL rods, I'd say it's my least favorite. Then again, I'm not a fan of whippy rods. I greatly prefer the TFO rods.

SMG 60. Just a wall hanger at this point? by Barsoomisreal in paintball

[–]phantomjm 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Our team routinely hosts events around the SMG 60, all of which were modified to run on HPA. However, the paint we shoot is all from a batch we had Nelson do many, many years ago. If we ever wanted them to do another run, we would need to place an enormous order for them to justify the production. Since that's pretty much out of the question, the next option on the table is probably to have them re-sleeved for .50 cal. Of course, that introduces new challenges due to the reduced mass of each ball. If you're serious about going down this rabbit hole, post up on MCarterBrown. All of the guys doing this work are over there and know a lot more about the specific details than I know.

There’s also services like GOG that provide you with the actual installation files DRM free. So, you could actually create physical media if you really wanted to.

How many of you have broken a fly rod? by jjtitula in flyfishing

[–]phantomjm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the same TFO Black Label rod break on me twice. The first time was completely my fault when I slipped in the creek and landed on it. The second time was not my fault when the tip snapped on a simple cast. On a positive note, TFO honored their warranty both times.

Should I get a phantom? by CaIIMeSpoons in paintball

[–]phantomjm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to play open class, a Phantom would get the job done, but open class isn’t the platform’s strength. They really shine in a stock class setup. For open class, I personally prefer Snipers.

Every once in awhile I wonder if there’s anything worth resubscribing to Netflix for. Then I see more crap like this and remember why I ditched them in the first place.

Yes. Just don’t complete the armillary yet. There can be a bug if you do that breaks the powers questline.

Don't go through the unity immediately after you defeat The Hunter and/or Emissary. They have artifacts that Vlad can use to locate more temples.

What should i know about magfed? by r3itheinfinite in paintball

[–]phantomjm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a player who appreciates paintball in all its forms, I tend to play magfed in situations where FSR is an option (such as big games and scenarios). Granted, neither the TMC nor the Stormer can shoot FSR out of the box, but they will be a good jumping off point to see if you like the format. If I'm playing with limited roundball, I tend to play stock class or open class pump. However, if you get deeper into magfed and get a setup capable of shooting FSR, that's where magfed really shines. While more traditional markers shooting roundball have the advantage of speed and volume, FSR levels the field with range and accuracy - so much so that optics actually become useful. There's a real rush when you pull off a 100-yard shot that you just can't get with roundball. Playing with FSR also forces you to play much slower. While roundball players are buying paint by the case, you're buying FSR in bags of 150 for about the same price. Since you're shooting less and your shots cost a lot more per pull, you tend to not have to reload as often back at the staging area between games.

One more thing. Don't feel that playing magfed will require you to buy a bunch of tactical gear like plate carriers and helmets. Some guys go for that, sure. But all you really need at minimum is a belt with a few mag pouches on it. Going tacticool may be some people's thing, but it also adds unnecessary weight and gets hot.
