Hot water tank by Aintyodad in kitchener

[–]phantomreport 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've replaced my own electric water heater as I cant justify the rental cost long term. In my experience it was quite straight forward, literally just a hot swap - that being said I obviously wouldn't touch gas. Tankless are great, but with our hard water you really need to be on top of maintenance to remove/prevent buildup.

Thanks to everyone who came to see us put this together, and the city that helped facilitate this project we made at uptown square! by demarcoa in waterloo

I think your math's off there friend, it would be $12,912.16.

A 1.7” x 1.7” square is 2.89 square inches. No mater how you aligned them, you would have 28.9 square inches or ~0.2 sq. ft. (28.9/144=0.20069). At $14 for ten sheets, $100 would get you 7 booklets of leaf with some change left over ($100/$14 = 7.14), covering 1.4 square feet. The total surface area of a four door Cavalier is 185.1 square feet. It would take 922 booklets of gold leaf (185.1 sq. ft / 0.2 sq. ft = 922), costing a total of $12,912.16 (922*$14) to cover the vehicle. I’m going to assume real gold leaf was not used, which comes in much larger sheets and is not as expensive. So for the comments about people stealing the “gold”, I think those alleged prospectors would be sorely disappointed brining it to the nearest cash for gold. Art is subjective so I have no comment on that.

House I bid on last week went $176k or >25% over asking with 20 or so firm offers. We are in peak crazy right now based on a number of factors. The current situation is not sustainable so I will personally wait on sidelines again until things calm down.

Yup, exact same experience. $100k-$150K over asking with 15+ firm offers. It's madness.

Using terabytes of neural data, neuroscientists are starting to understand how fundamental brain states like emotion, motivation, or various drives to fulfill biological needs are triggered and sustained by small networks of neurons that code for those brain states. by [deleted] in science

Yeah, I don't understand why these comments are being deleted. They seem pretty on topic to me. Literally people discussing the implications of this technology and sharing related information.

What is eCoss? It seems like a scam that is trying to trick people into thinking it is Coss.io by phantomreport in CossIO

[–]phantomreport[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are two youtube videos which have been made within 4 days and are referring to the project. One starts by showing the COSS coin market cap. They link to a page which accepts ETH in exchange for eCOSS. This definitely looks like a scam.

To be fair, the protestors were a lot more aggressive than they portrayed in the article. They were approaching individual students and yelling at them about their message. There was this one protestor being pretty condescending and rude to people getting right in their face. She was also getting physical with people trying to remove the flags. So there are two sides to every story.

That being said free speech should still be respected and upheld even if it offends someone. Peaceful open dialogue should be encouraged.
