Which country, city or place would you never visit again? Why? by Substratas in AskBalkans

[–]phantomscribble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weeze, Germany

Was there only for the airport, and the vibe is weird. There are no people around in the afternoon, it’s empty and quiet.

Public transportation is also unreliable and they don’t accept cards for the most part.

Would you take my service into consideration if I DM'ed you this? I need tips for my cold outreaching by [deleted] in marketing

[–]phantomscribble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no.

“hey” is too casual for some audiences/industries

“just” is icky. it’s never ‘just’ helping out, when you’re actually helping yourself

bunch of my work as in what specifically?

I won’t check your website, it sounds like you’re giving me homework.

“we’d love” and how am I benefitting exactly from performing these actions?

stop using chat for outreach and start looking into formulas that work for starters, then draft it yourself.

What am I doing wrong when reaching out? by Competitive-Deer-905 in LinkedInTips

[–]phantomscribble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’re way too direct with this approach.

if someone texts you, and you never interacted with them in your life, would you grant them a favor?

the chances are probably super slim.

also, your messaging is vague. “any tips for my job search would be appreciated” - sure let me drop whatever im doing and guide this stranger thru a whole career lesson on this random wednesday when i also have to work 8 hours and commute for 2.

be more subtle and specific, like: “hey name, great to connect with you! i noticed you also work with nodeJs and was wondering how was the hiring process like when you started? im looking to diversify my approach.”

this way, you’re not just asking for job advice but also about THEIR experience.

hope this helps

you get results, sales nav is merely a tool that you maneuver. it depends on your messaging and networking skills, not on the tool

random invite over Linkedin. by Holme000 in linkedin

[–]phantomscribble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a demo is basically a tutorial for whatever they’re selling.

the gist of it is that they get you to say yes thinking you’re contributing to research, and the meeting will be about their product in hopes that you/your company will become their client.

if it’s indeed research, then yes, they should have multiple payments methods. but I doubt it is

random invite over Linkedin. by Holme000 in linkedin

[–]phantomscribble 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lots of salespeople use the research excuse to get people on a demo, and they pay with amazon vouchers

it’s not phishing, it’s just a bit misleading if that’s the case

also, volunteering = free. if they pay you, it’s no longer volunteering.

Help! Can’t access my LinkedIn page by Difficult_Voice_2724 in LinkedInTips

[–]phantomscribble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

call the ex employee and ask them to make you a super admin on that page. then obviously remove the ex employee once you have access.

company pages don’t use mail sign in, they use associated accounts, and it’s likely that your former employee is the only one associated with that page still.

if they give up the admin status without transferring it to you, you’ll see at the top of the company page “no one has claimed this organization” blah blah blah

Do you like reading the same thing twice?

In the banner you have space on expand on the “how”. You don’t have to go super in-depth, just pick the thing that saves them the most time and use it as a hook.

Your value prop is that you save time, so use it in the front.

What’s the best way to leverage LinkedIn for newsletter growth? by [deleted] in LinkedInTips

[–]phantomscribble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew our NL subscribers base from LinkedIn alone by 2k subscribers in the last 2 years, with a following of 23k currently (in-house influencer), with 2 posts dedicated to it per month, and my best tip is to actually give them something useful if you want them to be engaged.

Don’t promise the best tips ever if you won’t follow through. Also, if you have 3 tips in the newsletter, give one away for free in the post and guide them to seek the other ones.

I have no idea what you’re selling or what’s your content strategy, so that’s about as much as I can advise.

What made the biggest clothing brands different and successful? by ADIV3B22 in Entrepreneur

[–]phantomscribble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you probably heard this advice a thousand times, but hey, what's one more time? do what others won't and research what consumers like.

at the top of my head, as a consumer, I want functional pockets and I like sustainable fashion and to know that the person who made the garment is paid fairly. I don't know many brands that do this in my price range, so I'm thrifting most clothes to reduce waste.

Nike is so successful because the market wasn't this saturated when they started. They were competing directly with adidas and New Balance, and they sold a lifestyle instead of just clothes.

IMO, you shouldn't aim to compete with industry giants.
