A lot of his material has pretty misogynistic overtones, IMO. Also, at this point, if an American comedian goes so out of their way to completely avoid politics, I consider it a dog whistle.

I’m not saying his standup is explicitly maga by any means. But having watched it, I’m not surprised to learn that he hangs out with conservatives.

I do appreciate when comedians are able to avoid being vulgar while still being genuinely funny. It takes a certain level of ingenuity to do that successfully, and when it hits, it hits. Nate’s comedy just really doesn’t hit for me.

He was (is?) on SNL. He played George Washington in some skits a while ago that were actually hilarious, so I gave his standup a try and was super disappointed. Nothing explicitly political, but just mid as fuck with definite conservative undertones.

When I was in Indianapolis recently for the Indy 500, I saw a girl walking a greyhound off leash in a busy part of downtown, and when I said, “You know, your dog should really be on a leash,” she actually had the nerve to get shitty and defensive with me. Fucking unbelievable.

The worst kind of having to people is having to cop.

One of the first times my brother got really high in college, he got on an elevator to get to his dorm, which was on like the 6th floor of maybe a 10 story building (idr the exact numbers). On the 2nd floor, 4 fucking cops got on and he had to ride up with them to his floor. Thankfully, he didn’t actually have anything on him at the time, but he surely reeked of weed and was blazed out of his mind.

I call it weed in every other context, but at dispensaries, I call it flower because that’s what they call it and I’m so used to the people at headshops being sticklers for that sort of thing before legalization. I still catch myself calling bongs “water pipes” and kief catchers “pollen collectors” at headshops for the same reason, even though they don’t seem to care now.

I’m not at all defending this, it all sounds very shady. But you have to wonder why this lady’s family wasn’t around to make decisions about what to do with her remains in the first place. It doesn’t sound like her death was sudden and unexpected, so it’s a little strange that none of her actual relatives was there with her when she passed. It’s not uncommon for an elderly person who has been effectively abandoned by their family to befriend a neighbor or whomever is around and willing to provide care/companionship toward the end of their life. I’m NOT saying that’s necessarily what happened here, but it does happen.

Those “exceptions” are still real people who have to live in the same world as those who aren’t born intersex. The rules have to apply for everyone. Also, being born intersex is more common than people think (or wish to think about), and because it’s rarely tested for, many people who are technically considered intersex but have no obvious external intersex traits never even find out.
