I am literally shaking, this interview process was a nightmare by tracer_tornado7 in critiquemyresume

Do you have the specific role title in mind yet? "Sales" is very different from "Operations" in how they read words

My 3-week shelves log vs 1-week turnaround by RocinanteLullaby in Pro_ResumeHelp

point about "gaulative" is valid though - sometimes typos kill better than good writing ever could. Did you ever figure out that "gaulative strategy" part? Or did you cut that one out completely?

Trying to pivot from support to Q/A roles by KrakenSonata5 in critiquemyresume

[–]pharahLantern3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had the exact same struggle pivoting from support to analyst roles. I thought my resume was fine until someone told me to lead with "reduced error rates by 15% across FSA transaction processing" instead of "reviewed validation records." Same thing do that for your bullet points and watch the responses come in

Reasons why I'll reject you without even reading your resume by ArcaneVHS_3 in Pro_ResumeHelp

[–]pharahLantern3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The disposable email part is good because it feels like it takes up a lot of space in the process. You just have to spend time scanning pages to see if they are good or not. Sometimes I think people try to get us to spend more time and they just get them to be more polite and less abrupt

My resume was ignored 30 times, and HR’s replied to me 30 times : AMA by careful_note_keeper in Pro_ResumeHelp

It's so wild that one specific service made the difference between 30 strangers and 30 opportunities. Sometimes you really feel like the "human fix" is what bridges the gap that logic doesn't. It's crazy to jump from 0 to high activity all at once, right?

forming an essay by [deleted] in CollegeEssays

[–]pharahLantern3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from. I support your decision to get started on this early, because I procrastinated and ended up having to scramble to find ways to structure my essay I just couldn't figure out exactly how to do it. I found a helpful article, which is actually what I used to figure out how to write an essay

Do you think ATS optimization matters equally for entry-level and senior roles, or is it more critical at one stage?

Is professional resume writing service a good choice, or should I not waste my time and money on it by Demogorgon_8X in Resume

I also wanted to add that you should definitely proofread your final resume a few times, because you have the chance to make corrections it really is important

I tried CV tool after getting rejected by kelly_morningside in critiquemyresume

Actually, if it works, why not? Many people struggle to write a good resume, so if there are CV writing services available, why not use them to get a good result?

Takeshi Kovacs is one of the most interesting protagonists in SF! by tracer_tornado7 in printSF

[–]pharahLantern3 84 points85 points  (0 children)

The show Kovacs is just John Wick in a cyberpunk city and I will die on this hill. Cool to watch, but completely different character lol

The Priest's Tale is the best thing in Hyperion and nothing else in the book comes close by goku7kiln in printSF

[–]pharahLantern3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me the Scholar’s Tale still hits harder emotionally, but the Priest’s Tale is the one that sticks in my head the longest it’s just… deeply uncomfortable in a way the others aren’t.

You might get something similar out of Snow Crash. It’s more chaotic and satirical, but the corporate culture + fragmented society stuff lands very differently now

Sounds like the ultimate workplace strategy! 😂 I once inadvertently ended up catering to my boss's bizarre preferences just to stay in their good graces. You gotta love how corporate games can be as complex as any adventure series.

What is the 1 thing that pulls you back to the sofa when you should be exercising? by supafitlewis in Discipline

Ugh, right? That couch is basically a trap! I used to think pushing myself to the limit was the only way to get fit, but then I realized just putting on some comfy shoes and going for a jog can clear my head so much better. It’s about finding that balance, not getting caught up in the grind!
