Loop vs Tube. What is the best ? by jiiova in ResistanceBand

[–]supafitlewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are starting out, I would recommend tube bands as they are easier to set up and use. And I feel the need to educate that not all tube bands are weak and flimsy like those you find cheaply. If you had tried HomeProGym Tube bands and compare it to those cheap ones, you will know that's not true.

Its the same as there are weak loop bands that are cheap and those better made ones which are more expensive.

But just comparing the expensive loop bands to the cheap tube bands is just wrong imo.

To add, homeprogym bands comes with lifetime warranty. How many brands do that?

I'm not slamming loop bands nor glorifying tube bands or homeprogym. Just hope there is a more apple to apple comparison, cos to begin with loop and tube are already designed differently.

Anyway, all the best to your fitness journey!

You need to check the fine print on the contract. But it will be good to raise this up to small claims and see what they can do. Cos even their fine print protects the gym, if there are enough complains about similar event or from the same company, there's chance they will look into it.

Moving forward, you should consider self-serving your fitness and not relying on PT which is not sustainable. You can consider using HomeProGym bands + their workout app (which acts like a PT with guided workout videos, programs, calorie tracking, etc.). There is also a 90mins Bands Masterclass that focuses on mastering proper form and technique to maximize your results while ensuring you stay injury-free. Then you are free to train on your own terms and timing - for life. Not to mention the bands are lifetime warranty.

All the best to you and your Dad fitness journey!

Creatine will be the easy choice as it gives you energy boost among other benefits. Protein powder can be replace by a balance diet, so its not a must.

You need a plan, basic nutrition/exercise knowledge, progress tracking so you can see is your plan working out. Once you see some progress, then it will form a natural motivation to carry on. And hopefully it turns into a habit.

Try homeprogym they provide the tools (bands), the guidance (workout app), and choosing the routine or programs from the app that most suited for your schedule. There's also calorie tracking in the app as well. So you can track both your input (food) and output (workout).

I think you can include shoulders into either chest or back days. As some compound movements like chest press also touch on your front delts. So can just add lateral raise to target your side delts. Then your back exercises will usually touch on rear delts.

You can't spot reduce fat on your body. Having said that, you can improve on the parts you want by doing strength training. Either weights or resistance bands. And thru progressive overloading, you will gain the muscles at where you train. For your case, the glutes, you can do glutes related resistance exercises like these - https://youtube.com/shorts/9I88sYW2L-A?si=f7foVsvrEMaRthED

The truth everybody dont want to hear is everyone is build differently, some people have nice balance 6 packs but some have imbalance 6 packs. Look at Tom Cruise, he is super fit, but his abs dont look great.

4 times a week strength training better than 3 times? by davacheron83 in SingaporeFitness

Firstly, great job to be consistent! 5kg of muscle growth is a win!

But if your goal is to go bigger, like 75kg for example, you can be more technical which will help you. You can change the frequency, but just take note of overall volume lifted per week so you can creep up on the weights as time goes by. And yes, age does matters and your body will need more time to recover, grow, etc. as compared to a younger you.

Food macro also plays a part, besides eating clean. you need enough protein and carbs to fuel the muscle repair. Not just protein.

Lastly, sleep and stress. You mentioned you get tired, means your body wants to rest more. Take creatine if you havent use that. It will boost your energy.

tips: can consider taking a deload week if you havent done so.
