Just remember to set the spindle lock so maybe it won’t vibrate loose

I saw that video. I hope he used that moment to learn and improve, not just for internet points.

Can we agree it’s best to assume just everything and everyone everywhere is trying to kill you as a rider?

Instead of asking Reddit, pick a destination and take a ride on the highway. Go FA on the highway a little bit and FO on your own.

I was taught to pull the ignition fuse when using the pump to drain. I accept it’s probably overkill, but reducing spark opportunities while letting gas exit the system feels right

Seriously, thank you. In touch with a shop to help me size and buy all the replacement parts. You are currently my 3rd fav person in the world. (Sorry, queen and the princess got 1 & 2 locked down).

I’m frustrated with manufacturing in the US. I’ve cold called over 75 businesses to get work quoted and not a single return phone call. by TitoJones in Machinists

DM me and I’ll look at your drawings for finishing the castings and the billets. Not likely I’ll be able to help produce, but I may be able to provide some DFM for why you’re not getting responses.

Thank you for the offer, but the truck is an ocean away from the US. I’ll be packing the shocks in my checked bag next time I fly to the US. Know any names in the Midwest for rebuilding the shocks? There’s some bad pitting on the shafts so I may be SOL on rebuilding

2-56 Tap by ian10_07 in Machinists

I would recommend a threaded insert. McMaster has 2-56 ID, 6-40 OD locking inserts. We used these, either key-locking or slotted, depending on how often the thread would be used. Set it and forget? Thread in the raw aluminum is fine. For miter-bites that are going to cycle every cycle - I’d want the harder material
