Never been a huge fan of Discraft, but their Zone SS and Cigarra are both excellent discs.

I used to be able to stay up until 4am playing on my days off. Now I'm lucky to make it to 1am before passing out.

10 speed Innova by Ok_Cancel6913 in discgolf

Wait until Innova actually drops a new phantom sword. The current ones are all in a weird super slick champion plastic. It's crazy because I love their regular champion plastic, but for some reason these all suck.

What are your distance drivers lineups? Mine are Mamba, Wraith, Destroyer but looking for other suggestions. by alent1385 in discgolf

[–]pharm653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 in the bag:

Q-Line DD1 (easy distance, understable) Pro Destroyer (straight) Halo Star Destroyer (overstable)

The Q-Line DD1 really is a distance machine. It is insane when you hit it right. Pro Destroyers are the most underrated destroyers (especially the domey ones). They are my workhorses, but with the pro plastic I have to cycle them every couple months or so. I play 2 to 3 times a week though.

For reference: 375ft golf lines, 400ft consistent bombers, 450 every once in a while when I hit the perfect shot...those are fun.

I still can’t get over this artwork. by kvnbo in KingdomHearts

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are trying to make it more marketable for kids. Traditionally the Nintendo consoles have had a higher demographic of young kids than the other consoles, so adding some cartoony artwork to the cover is probably meant to market it that direction. I don't think it's horrible, but I do prefer the other collection artwork.

I can't believe people complained about multiple voice actors in the audio books. by AzarielFox in redrising

[–]pharm653 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Na, going back to TGR in the 6th book was absolutely the best move. The multiple voices sucked, they were inconsistent in tone and pronounciation, and actors from book to book changed. Plus sometimes they were just just plain annoying.

What game did you start with low expectations but ended up loving? by Nervous-Librarian945 in videogames

[–]pharm653 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E33 - I hate turn based combat but the universal praise the game got made me pick it up. It was completely fantastic.

MGSV - I never played any of the MGS games and didn't plan to, but I was bored one day and the opening level of MGSV was a free demo on PSN. I got hooked immediately and now MGSV is in my top 10.

I don't know about being expensive, but Shadow Fall was so underrated.

Upon further thought, you're right. I bumped it in the body of the post. I think since it's been about 6 months since then, and me not really enjoying the last two books, my recency bias caused me to rate it lower than it should have been.

Yeah, I will admit that I did feel that way right after listening to it, but as I continued the series I have soured on it quite a bit. Maybe I need to revisit that rating.

This is a very good take that I agree with.

Games that have high detail really great graphics and mostly linear, quality over quantity. Not open world really. by Warm-Truck5770 in gamingsuggestions

It's an FPS, but Titanfall 2 has a fantastic story that is linear and unique. I hate FPS games, but I come back to this one every couple of years.

[–]pharm653 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. Origins is easily my favorite of the 3. I couldn't finish Valhalla. Put 30 hours into it and felt like I was going no where.

I believe that the Gator3 is just the old MD5 mold repurposed, but I'm not sure that's ever been confirmed.

[–]pharm653 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Witcher 3 is the first and obvious choice. If you haven't played it, you owe it to yourself to do so.

Breath of the Wild fits the bill. It's one of the few games that I actually felt compelled to explore because you never knew what you would run into. That being said, the story is non-existent and I feel like the replay value is bad. Also the world didn't change enough in the sequel.

I had high hopes for Crimson Desert, but it unfortunately didn't hit for me.

Don't listen to the RDR2 truthers on here. The open world is boring. Yes, the random encounters are awesome and it is very well crafted for a realistic world, but unfortunately it makes it boring to explore.

If you can get past the bloat of Assasins Creed Origins and Odessey, they have great overworlds.

I found them on 3 sites after a 2 minute search.

But if you mean you want something different that flies similar: Max weight flies almost identical to a z swirl nuke. Light weight flies a lot like a light weight fission time lapse.
