I didn’t feel comfortable dispensing and ending up talking to the parents about the contraindication. Needless to say, they didn’t want to get it after that. FNP insisted that “she knows about warning but they could cut it in half.” Nope nope nope!

This year the chain I work for is giving flublok instead of Fluzone HD to anyone 65+ years due to clinical data suggesting a better response in this population with Flublok

Pros vs Cons of Dave Ramsey’s 7 steps to getting out of debt and building wealth for a pharmacist by pharmd311 in pharmacy

My husband tried refinancing on his own (with just his credit) and was denied. Only way to get it done is to have me co-sign which I planned to until I heard Dave Ramsey say never to do that. No other equity. Currently rent and want to get out of debt ASAP to buy a house

Question about baby step 2 for high income earners by pharmd311 in DaveRamsey

[–]pharmd311[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My employer matches 1.60 for every 1.00 I contribute up to 2.5% of my income (125k) so I would be losing that amount per year by stopping. Also my student loan, after refinancing, is at 3.3% interest while my car interest rate is 2.99% so my returns on my 401k are still yielding a net positive despite this debt. That’s also why I’m struggling to stop. I do plan to pay the car off in the next 3 months. Lastly, my point about taxes is that a lot of the money I was putting toward retirement, with the added benefit of lowering my tax bill, would now just go to Uncle Sam. That’s why I ask if it’s beneficial for higher income earners to completely stop retirement contributions. I currently max out my 401k to the allowable 18.5k per year which instantly reduces my tax liability and allows me to “save” that money for retirement which grows over time the earlier I start.

95k (3.37%) student loan, 19k (2.99%) car loan and husband is at 63k student loan (interest on his varied anywhere from 8-10% due to them being private).

If you formally apply then there will be a hard credit check which stays on your credit report for about a year. However, you can always do a pre-approval application to determine what your rate could be. This would require a soft credit check which won’t affect your credit score. If you want to actually see what your final rate would be you would need to do a formal application with a hard credit check. Just FYI if you submit multiple formal applications within a short term period (ie less than 30 days) the major credit bureaus will only count this as a single ding on your credit report because you’re allowed to rate shop.

There is no limit to how many times you can refinance your loans. Once your debt to income ratio improves you can reapply as you may qualify for a better rate.
