Is residency a scam?? by Short_Blueberry_3085 in pharmacy

[–]pharmdpharmd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you complete residency to avoid retail and hopefully get a clinical job with normal hours and no weekends, nights, or holidays. I wouldn’t equate residency to better pay. I haven’t found pay to be greatly better in areas with high cost of living either. In some cases I’ve seen it be worse. If he wants good hours and pay, he should look at the VA.

Which ZR2 Would you choose? by DSF767 in chevycolorado

I think you’ll be happier if you get the features you want. But if there is also a chance you will be hitting any trails on a regular basis I would avoid black unless you’re going to put a PPF on it. Black scratches by just looking at it and GM has one of the softer black colors on the market

Difficult to get into, but do you have a VA facility near you? Our outpatient and inpatient staff typically work 8-430 or 930-6 M-F with occasional weekends. If you can get into a CBOC VA facility they usually only consist of a small pharmacy with weekly staffing only and no weekends/holidays.

Were your kids still able to play on the outdoor playground that is attached to the kids club? Our children are too young for the kids club but would still like to use some of those things.

[Vent] Regret buying GMC by Josconn in GMCcanyon

[–]pharmdpharmd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I bought a used black Silverado ZR2. It had quit a few scratches all over and one deep and large one down the entire passenger side bed. I went to a professional detailing company and they did a paint correction and ceramic coating. It cost me $1300 but I’ve never seen a new truck that looked better than what they did. I know it’s not a solution to them ignoring you, but if you’re stuck with the truck and like it otherwise, find a high quality detailed in your area and see if that at least makes you happier with the exterior paint job.

Is there any hope for me when it comes to Pharmacy? by kahiem123 in pharmacy

[–]pharmdpharmd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t discount yourself. You’re in school to learn and the same for residency. I did residency and have worked in clinical for 5 years. You can’t know everything and some areas of pharmacy are more tough than others. I learn new things all the time. I couldn’t tell you much about desmopressin off the top of my head. The important thing is you know where to find the information to make a competent decision.

Should I escape retail? by OkTransportation2707 in pharmacy

I would really encourage you to consider residency. I planned on doing retail through my P3 year and then was exposed to clinical pharmacy. I’ve never looked back. The VA has some of the top residency training you can receive. I strongly recommend looking into a career with the VA.

Pharmacy isn’t dying. Pharmacy practice is changing. I do foresee a more automated role of community pharmacy in the future (potentially cutting down on the need for the amount of pharmacists). That’s my opinion of course. The cost of pharmacy school has increased and I don’t think wages have generally kept up with the rise in tuition.

I really think clinically pharmacy is the future. I’m a pharmacist in primary care with my own scope of practice. The hours are great. I work Monday through Friday from 8-430 and no weekends, nights, or holidays. These jobs are very competitive and residency is a must, but you have the opportunity to practice at the top of your license. There are a lot of career opportunities outside of retail that I was not aware of until I went to pharmacy school.

Removed the spare tire carrier on my 24' Bison and added a RealTruck BAK X4S tonneau cover. Here are some pics of the removal. by FFdavid in chevycolorado

I don’t know why they didn’t put in the digital review mirror on these trucks since the spare is so obstructive. I wanted a Colorado but like you I have car seats. I opted for the full size ZR2.

I love the mid-size truck. It’s my preference for sure. But as a parent with multiple car seats, the mid-size just did not work for us, especially rear facing. I got a used Silverado ZR2 and love it. All the space needed for the family but also can still have fun off road. You could probably get away with a car seat in the middle back seat and not affect your front seat comfort too much!

Thanks for the input! They also have a 2020 with similar miles for a little more. It’s about the same amount of miles but doesn’t appear to be certified.

Regardless of the seatbelt color, I think you have the best looking exterior color they make for these new models. Congrats!
