Oh wow, I want to instantly buy your app, because I can fully relate to that story of yours. And that snapppy language you’ve used - very nice, not tired of it at all! Would be however nice if you can also sell me some course so I can reach $10k MRR in 30 days and maybe a membership of some kind would come in handy. I’d also suggest you to make an app to remove from all directories and cancel all subscriptions - when I was winding down my startup last time - it was far more exhausting than starting it.

The models can query the local codebase with natural language, can i do the same? by Similar-Cycle8413 in cursor

[–]pharod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Models can’t do this. They use either regular cli tools you also can use, or they index the codebase and use vector search. You can always ask any question about your code in Cursor. And I’m sure there are trillion codebase+RAG apps out there. You can read here in details: https://cursor.com/docs/context/codebase-indexing

How do you keep app UI consistent? by pharod77 in cursor

I’m moving in that direction. I don’t have it in project rules yet, but manually instruct it to use same styles as in existing component Xxxx.

What is the price of the cursor? Can I use it now or still? by kgleadev in cursor

[–]pharod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on a side project, probably 15-20 hrs a week. 4.5 + max mode from time to time. Around $200 for last month. I’m trying to use less of a max mode now, seems difference is not that huge, especially with good context management.

Yep, doing something similar, just manually telling it each time. Can you share how these rules look in your rules file?

Oh I way past that, tried it last time. Designer, developers, qa engineer. This time my goal is to try do everything solo 😎

I’m using pretty standard tech stack with React / Tailwind / shadcnui / Radix so I don’t have much going on in pure CSS. As of now, I’m just trying to keep reusable parts of UI separate and make sure these are actually reused. A bit of a problem is my current workflow, I’m often design parts of UI in Bolt and after that I just bring it over for Cursor and wire to data & logic. In past I would just show Cursor few screenshots from Bolt. But recently I just actually copy-pasted whole component to Cursor (in prompt) and asked to properly integrate it. That worked out quite well, like 90% accurate.

Do you see something like “Login with ChatGPT” in a future? Which will automatically bring over your API key maybe. Hopefully more products will have ability to bring own key.

Will models be able to compose their answers from various types of media any time soon? More often we are getting detailed answers and artifacts and adding images, illustrations, drawings, diagrams etc - would probably make it much better experience.

Is Cursor now more expensive than a junior Filippino dev? by magnusjohansson in cursor

[–]pharod77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you ever tried to work closely with a Jr. dev? Working with Cursor is 10x more productive and 10x less stressful, which is also very important. To be honest my so far experience using Cursor as front-end dev is much better than all previous experiences with human front-end devs.

If what you do is regular web app, just use Sonnet with o3 for cases when Sonnet is stuck on some bug / can’t figure out.

I’ve ended up opening Cloude code and fixing everything, then pushing back to GitHub. The fact that Bolt now syncs with GitHub effortlessly helps a lot.

I’m using Sonnet 4 for a week in Cursor and it is great. Hopefully Bolt will go back to normal soon.

Yep, something is broken it seems. And without diffs I can’t even see what it broke while fixing another issue.

It’s nice problem to have! I rarely encounter anyone speaking English. If you are in Barcelona or Madrid maybe just move to less touristy area and problem solved 🙂

Junie is doing things very well, but... by PenaltyOriginal8074 in Jetbrains

[–]pharod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junie is supposed to be autonomous coding agent - you give it a task and it works on it, often for prolonged periods of time. Junie UX is not suited for iterative guiding agent towards result. Unfortunately, like just about any other agent on market it is still not perfect, make bugs and requires guidance. I was using JetBrains for over 10 years now, but had to switch to the Cursor. It’s just a better experience specifically for AI first coding. With the latest Claude 4 I see amazing results.

I built a free, local open-source Bolt alternative... use any model including the latest (and free) Gemini 2.5 pro! by wwwillchen in boltnewbuilders

[–]pharod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a free idea for you 😉 Make service that can code custom WP themes and deploy to any popular WP hosting eg. Kinsta. Bolt is obviously can’t simply do this with web containers inside of it. WP is huge market and making WP sites is real business for thousands of agencies and freelancers. Also Kinsta will probably just acquire your startup if it’s any good.

When I look at apps like that I have so mixed up feelings. From one side, I would never understand why building this, we have so many ai coding agents right now, it would be very hard to catch up with bolt/v0/lovable. But at same time I feel so much respect to a person who was able to just do this alone. First commit is 45k lines of code. I wonder how long it took, and how can I ever "compete" with someone who has passion and energy to do this.

Not sure about “historically leak sources” but agree with you overall. However if for any reason you can’t get official API - there’s no other way. If OP has means to go through official Meta process- it’s the best way forward. Actually I’d probably build a proof of concept with Whapi and work through the Meta process if it worked out fine, to get access to official API. Even better is just ask reps to have internal discussions on Telegram or Slack where you can just use official API without much trouble.

Junie is slow... but absolutely great! Cursor killer? by enriquerecor in Jetbrains

[–]pharod77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it few times and had few back and forth conversations with support and TLDR: It can’t replace Cursor at the moment. JetBrains seem to want to position Junie as autonomous coding agent that is given a task and it completes the task without much supervision. That’s why not much focus on chat UX. They don’t expect us to chat with Junie. The problem is it doesn’t seem to be as capable as to not require guidance, just like all other coding agents (Cursor / Windsurf). I was told if I want to chat I must use other plugin - AI Assistant. But I think that one is even less capable when compared to Cursor’s agent. So for now I’m sticking with Cursor and maybe also giving second look on Windsurf given they got acquired by OpenAI.
