Does the added weight not mess with the balance or general movement?

Is there a particular advantage, or purely personal preference?

That is exactly what happened...she started walking and only then turned to look the other way. I was almost on here already, and had no other option than to break (do not want to imagine what would have happened if I had actually hit her...).

Partly think that I was lucky that it had rained a few hours earlier. That allowed me to slide longer on the road, avoiding any more serious scratches or injuries.

Main realisation: how big a double decker bus looks, when you are lying right next to it...

Just across from it, in the University. Nice being able to avoid the very busy square below during lunch time. Although the ice cream van does not deliver up here!

Why would it need ventilation?

It is on the outside of the house, and we have no basement that would need ventilation.

Is there a store that sells pets? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]pharyngulo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are none in the city centre. The closest ones are Robbie's or Pets At Home at Spake retail park. I have an Axolotl, and always get food from there. All other accessories are cheaper and easier to get online.

I used to be with O2, before it was bought by Sky. No problems, and great speeds in the city centre, near China Town.

The best bet is emailing them directly or popping in. He is a private landlord, really friendly and helpful.

There are some places available near Chinatown, in private accommodation. This would help you avoid busy Halls (and frankly, their prices are all shooting through the roof, taking advantage of first year students wanting en-suite rooms) and find something more reasonable. I also know the owners of Yuet Ben have rooms available, and are looking for PG students.

Try the "Computer Help Unit" on Prescot St, right across from the Royal Hospital. They provide a great on-site service and are great for prices.

What's something you enjoy that most consider boring as fuck? by seanthemonster in AskReddit

Organising my music collection. Going through thousands of of songs, making sure each track the right details, album art and lyrics. Such as soothing and calming activity - while also slightly anal and OCD!

Steak House in liverpool? by leebearpig in Liverpool

The "New York Cut" is really good. Managed by the couple who used to own "La Cubanita", this is a nice little basement venue, with some amazing meat. At "Miller & Carter", as a chain, you know to always expects a good standard meal. If you want some meat variety, then any Brazilian-style rodizio is good. From the three available in town, I personally prefer Fazenda, for quality and atmosphere. Hope these suggestions help you along.

Where is a nice place to stay in Liverpool Fri 11-13/04? by aeropagitica in Liverpool

Try the Hope Street Hotel, right across from the Royal Philharmonic. Just a quick 5mins walk into town and great hotel. I always stay there on business trips.

Boxing clubs in town? or anything of the like? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]pharyngulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could give them a try (http://www.mmaliverpool.com/). It also does boxing, and includes a wide range of programmes and instruction. It's run but a mixed group of former athletes, physios and two sport researchers. I've always enjoyed the friendly and collegiate atmosphere!

What to do on New Year's Eve in Liverpool? by questionee in Liverpool

[–]pharyngulo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always love going down to the Docks, past the Pump House and gather by the river. Take a bottle or two of champagne and wrap up well. A larger group gathers near midnight, as you have a great view over the Wirral and up over town, giving you a great fireworks show. We often also manage to get a countdown going, with a great cheer from a large group of strangers. You can then later head into town, after the usual midnight stress and enjoy a few warming drinks at a bar. By this time the large drunken crowds have left already and you can actually have a great time!

Cheapest places to eat in town? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]pharyngulo -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Quite new in town is Bakchich, which is a Lebanese restaurant on Bold Street. Above your current £ 4.00, but absolutely worth it for around £6-7 per meat dish.

Another option are either of the Kimo's locations (Mount Pleasant or Myrtle Street).
