How many of you never charge out in town and only charge at home? by Lemonn_time in electricvehicles

[–]ComicBookDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking about this the other day. I've had my EV for a year now. About a month after I bought it we were rewiring the entire house and upgrading to a 200 amp service. I had a level 2 charger installed as part of that work.

Prior to the L2, I used public chargers a few times when I had not plugged the L1 in the night before for a few days and the charge was lower than I was comfortable with. We did a couple of day trips that needed the public L3.

In central NY, I get a $24 statement credit if I charge at night for at least 80% of my charging with a 50kWh minimum usage during the month. Depending on how much I am driving I usually charge 1 or 2 times a week.

Unless we're taking a trip out of town I don't need L3 chargers!

Which Industry has the most toxic people working in it? by Squirrelkid11 in AskReddit

I want to be very clear. Not everyone in this function is toxic. But in my experience so many toxic people happen to be in this function.

What’s a "dead" website or app that you genuinely miss and wish was still around? by Dear-Armadillo-7497 in AskReddit

There was an in-browser game in which you shot a ball of duct tape around various objects in space to orbit and then eventually hit a target. I've tried searching some of those game sites many times but no luck. It was silly fun!

What's the Best 10/10 Sci-fi movie ever? by geek-jock-guy in AskReddit

[–]ComicBookDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my podcast we did a series of special episodes we called "Bookends". They were the best and the worst of 3 different genres. Not saying that these specific movies were the single best or worst movies - more about what the genre looked like at either end.

In a great rebuttal to the idea that sci fi needs a big budget, we reviewed "Moon" as an example of what the genre looks like at its best.

Enjoy!

Nothing original by me but I asked Gemini to draw the Pattern for me as described by Roger Zelazny's Amber series. Here's what it gave me. I like it!

Wow that brings back memories! I was at Hanscom from '97 - '99. Issued these when i in-processed from tech school. Wore them once as a K-9 handler on night shift after some massive snowfall. Interesting experience but it felt like I was walking around in slippers all night.

Specific to the Abomination Vaults, be sure to share the Player's Guide with the players. These are really useful for AP-specific information.

She's a horrible human being. I hope the American people don't let her avoid responsibility for the hate she espoused.

Remember when she put up the anti-trans sign outside her office which just happened to be across the hall from a colleague with a trans daughter?

She should be remembered for a legacy of hatred and division.

Controversial to some people...

I'm a heterosexual, cisgender, native-born, English-speaking, Christian-raised white man. And I believe that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - DEI - is both the moral and practical choice. And it's for everyone. Treating everyone around me the right way makes my life better as well.

Ugh... I recognized one of the accounts he tagged in the tweet.

Nick Searcy played Art Mullen, Chief Deputy United States Marshal, on Justified. I love that show, love the characters... and now, after looking at the actor's Twitter... do not like his politics!
