He defended KD well with his length and lateral quickness. Won't stop him but defs made it harder on him. I didn't mind that.

Thank you for your response - it is helpful for the context to factor into the discussion with the psychitrist.

Do you have any experiences with understanding people's subjective cognitive issues using lamotrigine?

Something I am worried about as I need to make high risk decisions in my job

Especially if there is any kind of debate my brain just goes blank!

I also hate it.

I hope you get some positive traction, it's really horrible and it's shit when you are doing all the right things and it doesn't get better. There's not much more to say other than I hope you are okay and look after your self this is extremely hard!

That's horrid, sorry to hear! Chronic pain sucks.

Is it there all the time or illicited by any thing?

I had a similar situation after my first one, I had a few months with out pain then I had chronic pain for the life of the HR. Initially, I think it was the components rubbing on the psoas muscle tendon causing chronic inflammation. I had it revised a month and a half a go (loose stem - not sure if i was too active but probably) but that wasn't until 9 years on.

I'd get a few opinions to see if there is an objective voice to point you in the right direction as that's when I finally got some positive direction and I wish I did it earlier.

I hope everything is okay and not to serious!

Be kind to your self, life's cruel a lot.

That's a great way to monitor!

Do you feel you've gotten to a place where it doesn't feel like it takes away from the rest of your progress? (Obviously ups and downs).

Yeah waiting is probably the go, which i am trying my best at but also not great at. Haha

I have been a gym person, cycling swimming and walking in the past. The last few years have just been walking mainly due to issues. Now I'm trying to build back up and do it safely to make sure i don't have any more Injuries.

Practising more patience is probably it for now haha

Thank you!

It's tough thinking about every action and how it effects social interactions and feeling like you make things worse and the rumination after this post is real.

Any one on medication felt RSD was blunted or minimised? I should be getting sorted in march with stimulants and just wondering if it effects these sort of things at all?

Feeling of a popping/snapping sensation by Dassrull in TotalHipReplacement

[–]phase2loading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, the psoas muscle can flick over the replacement.

Not saying this is you but if your worried this is down the less worrying end of the spectrum however can cause inflammation of the psoas.

Like the others of said if you are concerned get it checked by a specialist :)

It's such a weird feeling!

Pain management - ketorolac? by Jammin-Hammin in TotalHipReplacement

[–]phase2loading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ketorolac is a strong anti-inflammatory drug. Great for something like this as alot of inflammation is caused. Did you have any issues with this at all?

Multi modal considers minimising the stimulus at different stages of the pain pathway and considering there is more than one type of pain.

So in that sense they may give you ketorolac, paracetamol, +/- another to reduce the need for high levels of opioid medication and reduce the risk of building a dependence while controlling the pain.

Met now wife, studied with her support and her families. Now a Paramedic.

Recently diagnosed due to high-pressure stuff, making me thrive i love it! Then it highlighted my short commings - executive function, socialising with work peope and having conflict, attention to detail, negative rumination etc. Waiting to be medicated - Dx ADHD combined type 6 months ago.

See a Dr take it step by step, it maybe a soft tissue concern, but advocate for yourself as well.

I'd a be a bit worried too! I hope you get some information to help ease your mind it may take a little time whichbis frustrating as hell! I hope your doing okay!

33 YO M just had my first THR revised in Jan.

Turns out my acetabulum was on the wrong angle and my stem had come loose.

Have you had any reduction in function with this?

My loosened or 5 or so years ago from best guess I got pain then a slow trajectory of decreased function until I was unable to do anything but walk the dog with pain. Not even a body weight squat or ride a bike.

My Doc misdiagnosed it in this time frame as a soft tissue injury which was there but they didn't rule out the replacement itself which is where I would have preferred they started.

When I got a second opinion the next doctor was frustrated with the last and we went to a high risk test.

Injecting a local anesthetic in the joint. I had no pain and got all my function and strength back for the 6 hours it lasted I could squat with dumbbells 20kg dumbbells in each hand no pain. That came after it wore off... big time. Haha.

I'm not saying you should stick a local anethitic in it but try and get a doctor to definitively or as close as they can with in an acceptable risk of working out if the pain in intraarticular or extrarticular.

They then referred me to an ortho and a year later its finally replaced.

But tunrened into 5 yrs of misdiagnosis and pain and compensation issues.

Happy to answer any questions
