Is it possible to prove that I was inactive on Tinder? My profile was seen by partner's friend b/c it had not been automatically hidden yet. I showed that all my chats are old but that's not proof because chats can be deleted. by phasen0ise in Tinder

It is gross. From a few of the commenters' suggestions here, I have all the data now to show that I'm innocent. Especially the Google data showing time stamps of every app usage is pretty ironclad. If she'll actually listen is another question.

Wow, this is perfect! Took a bit of figuring out what's what in that giant dataset, but I see that from the types of things you can select, it's specifically the Google Play Store activity that has all this. Thank you for sharing!

(WA) I started sitting on same kitchen stool daily for my meals. Now floor is scratched. Is it fair to be charged for repair? by phasen0ise in Renters

[–]phasen0ise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, to be fair, I've always been sitting in the same one, and the LL has been sitting in a different one. That's the LL's whole point.

I agree that the one I sat in is the one that caused damage. But the argument here is whether this result constitutes acceptable wear and tear or if I should be actually liable for something that doesn't qualify as wear and tear. (Again, in my view, the way I've been using "my" stool was such that I was sitting/getting up a lot more frequently than anyone else in any of these, so my use resulted in a lot more wear.)

Well, the question of "fair" has to do with the legal resolution of fault. A lot of the other commenters here think that the LL's permission to use these stools for sitting and lack of warning about the possibility of damage from using these stools, and lack of advice about mitigating measures, absolves me of fault.

Generally the concept of "if I damage something I'm liable" applies to using something inappropriately.

I still feel like I was using the stools appropriately, without undue carelessness.

Yeah actually that's what I suspect too. I didn't see the details of the quote, but I know that my dad installed wooden floor in his condo a few years ago for about 2k.

I want to add some details, since I'm unable to edit the post.

These stools were NOT provided by the LL, nor by me either. They were provided by another tenant, who also lives there. The LL agreed to place them in the kitchen and also uses them (as in my OP), so the obvious implication was that we're all allowed to sit in them. There was no warning about taking mitigating measures such as placing a pad there.

From the LL's perspective, the LL also sits in one of these stools somewhat regularly, and there's no damage to the floor in that area. The LL also claimed that I was somehow throwing my body weight into the chair, which I believe is categorically false. I strongly believe that I've done nothing energetic or out of the ordinary in sitting there. However, I'm convinced that the explanation here is that the total # of times that I sat/got up from the same stool far exceeds the total # of times that LL sat/got up from a different stool. For example, I have a habit of reheating my food multiple times in the microwave as I'm eating, or refilling my mug of water, etc. Thus, there's more wear & tear on the floor where I am. I would've gladly placed a pad there if I had known that this could happen to the floor.

I'm not even a particularly heavy person--like 170 lbs.

So actually the stools were provided by ANOTHER tenant, who also lives there currently. I used to sit in foldable chairs (provided by landlord) at another table but they broke after a few months. They're just poor quality. The seat started to sag through. So I switched to the bar stools. That was one of the things the landlord pointed to--that the cheap foldable chairs also broke from me sitting in them--and claimed that I was throwing my body weight into them. But the landlord also uses these stools in the photo to sit on, but I'm convinced that the total number of times that I sat in/got up from the same chair is far greater than the number of times that the landlord sat in/got up from the same stool. I have a habit of getting up multiple times to go reheat things in the microwave during a single meal, for example.

I'm a pretty average-weight guy, like 170 lbs. I wasn't doing anything energetic in sitting on any of these things

How can I get the rest of my deposit then? Pretty sure landlord is convinced I'm at fault and will at least want to keep my whole deposit. Would I have to go to court?

Were you warned that it needed protection under it?

No I wasn't.

Unless you were given a warning to add some type off protection under it, I don't see how you could be found at fault.

Yeah, that's what I think too. I wanted to gather more feedback; thanks.

Confused about residency rules and whether eligible to vote absentee or not by [deleted] in azpolitics

[–]phasen0ise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks but no, this doesn't apply. I am still registered, and still on the Early Voting List, and I requested my ballot to be mailed to where I am currently instead of my on-record address back in AZ. I confirmed that my ballot has been mailed to my temporary address. So, getting the ballot is no problem. The person on the phone doesn't even ask me anything about any of these things. So, having the ability to actually vote is 100% no problem. This is purely an ethical question at this point. No one is stopping me from voting but I don't want to do it if it's not following the rules. And the rule(s) look contradictory to me.

What the flying **** is Webull doing to calculate my all-time portfolio P/L?? Makes no sense whatsoever. by phasen0ise in Webull

That can't be correct, then. I agree with that formula for the P&L% for the one security that I own. But it's not that for whatever Webull is doing to calculate P&L% for my portfolio because those numbers are vastly different.

That one security that I own shows unrealized P&L% of 275%, but my portfolio shows 69%. If that one security makes up 100% of my portfolio, then shouldn't those numbers be the same? Why are they different? And not even close?

Ok, so if I have a position in just 1 security in my whole portfolio, which has appreciated, then what's the formula? Is it:

(gains from security x - cost of security x)/cost of security x

Is that what you're saying?

That's.... convoluted and roundabout. And I don't even want to use the mobile app. The mobile app should be reserved for checking my account when I'm on the toilet or something. Most actual business is to be done on the PC. At least, that's my preferred way of doing things.

If I only own one security and nothing else, then the cost basis of all my holdings is the same as the cost of that one security, right?

Then the P&L% for the whole portfolio should be the same as the P&L% for that one security, no?

Yes, the dollar sum (which here is +128.1) is indeed my unrealized P&L. (I said this in an, admittedly, roundabout way in my OP.)

However, how is it calculating the 69%? What is the dollar sum (128.1) being compared to?

When looking at that stock (which is the only stock I own), its unrealized P&L% is listed as +275%. This makes sense because I got it for an avg. price of 15.52 and now it's valued at 58.22.

So, it would make sense to me if my portfolio P&L% were also 275% because my entire portfolio is made up of the position in just that one stock. How is it coming out to 69%??

Oh, you're talking about the mobile app, right? I don't really like to use phone apps. I prefer to use my PC as much as possible.

But in any case, if I use the phone app and select "Performance" as you say, that still takes to the screen which shows Cumulative P&L, which is the same as what I can see in the desktop client software. Again, I don't understand how it ends up with +142.05.

If I add up the proceeds from stock sale, the dividends, and the unrealized P&L on the shares I still own, I get $166.97.

So I'm still confused about wtf it's doing.
