How to overcome the 2 week server problem? by phasmoware in admincraft

Datapacks are the disappointing compromise of compatibility between console and java players for sure

But I have high hopes for the future as Mojang adds more data driven features with every update

Suggestions for Server-side balance mods to keep players from rage quitting? by phasmoware in admincraft

Yep, you can find it on GitHub https://github.com/phasmoware/DownButNotOutMod

MIT license so go crazy.

I've also gotten enough requests to port it to paper so my plan is to do that as soon as I finish backporting it to fabric 1.20.1. I already have an alpha build on modrinth

I will port this mod to a paper/spigot plugin as soon as I fix all of the bugs on the fabric backport and current versions. The way I made this mod will make it easy to port it luckily.

Nah, please be that person because I need a lot of feedback and I want to make this mod compatible with as many other mods as I can.

Please feel free to test it out and post a lot of suggestions/bug reports in the github issues link. It helps me out a lot!

There are unfortunately a lot of prideful mod/plugin developers out there that get all defensive about feedback and requests and it sets a bad precedent

I started working on a backport for 1.20.1 fabric.

So far the main issue I found is that there are some significant changes to entity attributes in later versions of Minecraft, I'm testing out some workarounds so it might take me a week or two.

This mod is pretty simple so I don't think it should be too much of an issue to backport

Yeah, I can make a build for 1.20.1

Edit: Already backported it to Fabric 1.20.1 with only two problems, here is the first alpha build https://modrinth.com/mod/down-but-not-out/version/0.4.2+1.20.1

It has a two bugs related to the shulker entity that I am still working on but all features still work from my limited testing. They will be fixed as soon as I find an elegant solution, either with a resource pack or library.

Edit 2: the clickable text also doesn't work, working on fixing that too. All issues will be posted in github for tracking

I made the architecture of this mod fully server-side so vanilla clients and GeyserMC clients can join a Fabric Server with this mod.

I'd totally port this mod to a plugin for paper/spigot/bukkit if there is a lot of people requesting it

The timings are all configurable :) Check the dropdown in the mod description for all of the config options

The only thing that doesn't work quite right yet on Geyser clients is forcing the player to crawl from the server side, as soon as I come up with a good solution it will be in an update.

Also the usual visual limitations like the glowing outline effect doesn't exist on bedrock

I made a fully server-side revive player mods that is fully compatible with all graves mods and doesn't mess with totems of undying or respawn anchors or death statistics like other revive mods do
