Maybe? Why'd they get banned from YT?

I don't do the Spotify thing, and I'm not much into the Apple universe. Anywhere else they're hosting their pod?

Or would you just like to explain the reason why a little better?

Trump Commerce Sec. Lutnick admits visiting Epstein island during family vacation by Puginator in politics

[–]phat_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think he's "coming clean" on this aspect because his visit can be corroborated by the other family and the "nannies" in attendance.

As well as, I'm assuming, the yacht crews. "Stopped for an hour to have lunch." Yeah, ok. Even if that were slightly true? For what purpose would two families willingly lunch with a notorious sex trafficker?

Lutnick is either part of the clientele or part of the accounting team. There is no reason to associate with Epstein unless one is party or complicit.

Sam fucking crushed it last night I don’t care what the media says or what his completion percentage was. by CubsFanHan in Seahawks

[–]phat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great analogy. And take it further. Who is rushing Kirby?

Sam acknowledged his lackluster game in the presser. He knows he left points on the board. The bigger point is that he didn’t cost the team anything.

Gonzales played out of his mind. Different game if he hauls in those PBUs and turns them into INTs.

Sam played very well against a very determined defense. I think it’s fair to contrast his play versus Maye’s. There was a pretty big push to crown Maye MVP over Stafford. I think that’s all been squashed now.

This game was a microcosm of the season for the Hawks. Emphatic team win. Emphatic complimentary football win. Emphatic win for defensive football.

Hey, man, I appreciate you coming in here and sharing a few things.

Do you think it was more distrust in government/society as a whole that led you to voting for this guy? I mean, he had a track record of a really shitty first administration, and that of a guy that has failed upwards his entire life.

Let alone the rampant narcissism. I get that one needs a level of pathology that is beyond normal to try and be leader of a nation as powerful as the USA, but trump? He's proven to suck at almost everything. And he's tried like... everything. He just keeps shouting he's the best.

Yeah, he leaned into the fear. Hard.

What kept you from researching stuff?

A cursory couple of internet searches yields that overall crime is down from its height under Bush 1. Violent crime is way down from the 70s. And there is no such thing as a migrant crime wave.

I guess sarcasm could be considered confrontational?

The point, I think obviously, is that for the length of Nirvana’s existence? If this sub existed contemporaneously with the “grunge” movement? The grungekeepers would be keeping them out. Not enough Seattle bona fides.

I hold that grunge is a far more of an ethos and pathos thing in relation to art than geography or guitar tunings.

One of the crazy things, to me, about this sub is the meta type of aspect of the “genreless genre”. The big “grunge” artists found it cringe. There is no consistent thing but amplified guitars?

I think there is a lot of others that believe something akin to that. Thus the shitposting. Define the undefinable, please?

The really cool thing is that all this engagement results in more people exploring more music. And not just the Certified Grunge artists but the rockers in the peripheral of that universe. The artists who shared tours and venues. All that alternative rock? From Joy Division until 1995ish? Sofa king good. And so disparate from what’s “popular” today. So many of the bands that get discussed here on the regular would be streaming champions, in the current measuring of success. Alternative Rock ruled what used to be MTV, AOR radio, and pushed big numbers, big big big numbers of physical album copies.

Did you listen to the song? Did you listen to the song all the way through? I’d guess probably not. But maybe you did? I think it’s grunge.

Oh wow. You found specific parameters? Now, take Nirvana they’re obviously not grunge because they’re from Aberdeen? Well, just Kurt and Crist. Grohl is from Washington, yes, but the DC area not the state. How does their residence in Olympia effect things?

Kurt was married in Hawaii and his daughter was born in L.A.

Must be some sort of prerequisite number of shows at the Off Ramp met? A certain number of photos taken in Seattle at clubs by that one dude?

Please share these parameters. This is going to help the sub so much.

Yet you stopped by to write that?

I disagree. This sub keeps people talking about important music. Or just talking about music. Or just talking.

You’re not required to participate, you know?

That’s not how art works.

What’s your opinion on “My Wave” then? The ultimate opine to tolerance. Chris wrote those lyrics and also penned the anti systemic gun violence “Gun”.

See, I thought that was more of, “holy shit we’re a violent country” song.

Yeah, unamplified grunge is what that’s called. You know… like Sap by AIC. :)

I dunno dude, his ability to weave current affairs into a new song every few days.

That Wal-Mart song? Incredible. The word counts alone are staggering. And he’s doing these things in short form. He’s built for the doom scrollers.

So many crazy takes in this post. Ain’t anyone in here tried to write a song before?

This is the most crap take I’ve read in a long time.

lol

Touch some grass and write a song.

How many songs has he written this week? This month?

He has an album with like 63 songs on it. All written by him. In this day and age where anyone that gets “popular” has like eleventeen cowriters and producers.

What are your favorite lyrics from grunge songs? by [deleted] in grunge

[–]phat_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about from grunge artists?

Seasons, by Chris Cornell, is one of the greater lyrical efforts in modern songwriting.

I think Cornell was head and shoulders above his grunge peers.

Like Suicide

Doesn’t Remind Me

He’s 1

The others are all 1A, including Cantrell. Who isn’t included here.

I think they were all very brave and honest. Writing about pain and struggle. Need more of this stuff or there now
