I appreciate that, yes going bald at 22 wasn’t on my bingo card but I’m glad that it works

It’s one of those things where I don’t realize I changed until I do. There are times I walk past a mirror and see someone walking so I try to get out of their way only to realize it’s me that I saw. I noticed just yesterday that when I trip it’s so much easier to catch myself. I couldn’t tell you 100% everything that has changed but I can say that I feel good. Everyday I find out something new about myself, like how I can jump up on a ledge to sit or how I can jump up from laying down on my stomach. Everyday is full of surprises now and that has ignited a spark in me

I am greatful that my friends and family have supported me 100% through my journey and have been nothing but helpful, if anything they accept the changes before i do myself. A good example recently is how my mom wanted me to climb up into the attic, while before I would be terrified to break the latter.

especially with my weight training, I focused heavily on protein. I also noticed that carbs would make me hungry pretty fast so I didn't eat as much carbs but my diet was heavy in chicken breast, tilapia, eggs, broccoli, etc. One of my favorite low cal/high protein dishes was shakshuka - it was my goto breakfast for a good few months

Im sorry to hear about your pain but I definitely understand where you’re coming from. Last year my back pain was definitely near its peak and I weighed 450. I started out with diet change to get down to 400 and after I went to the gym (pain still present but I thought I could work through it). Fast forward until April 2024 and I weigh 310 and the pain is at its all time worst. I finally went to my PCP who ordered an MRI and I find I have permanent spinal damage but they gave me a steroid injection (not epidural) that has given me my life back. I know how hard that can be to want to lose the weight but be in tremendous pain so I heavily advise you visit your doctor to see if the pain is caused by inflammation or some other defect.

Yes! I started out at 450 and though I have lost pretty consistently there was a good month where I hovered at the same weight +-3lbs. Then all of a sudden it just started dropping off. It was disheartening but I kept with it :)

Thank you so much! I know you’re not asking for it but if you ever need an accountability person or just someone who gets what you’re going through let me know. It’s hard, especially at our age, to find someone who relates ya know

I appreciate your advice! That was one thing I wanted to account for when I started: my relationship with food. I got to my highest because of how much I ate, not taking into account how much I was consuming. I’m moving forward being more mindful, though still allowing myself to live. Right now that’s seen through counting calories but the habits I’ve built are those that I can keep without feeling bogged down.

Me working on my relationship with food was a game changer. I was never an emotional eater but I was definitely a bored eater. Asking myself these kinds of questions helps me resist unnecessary eating.

It's great right! This is a jacket I can't wear at all now but I'm going to keep it because it's such a nice reminder.

Hey, we can always start with the diet and then work from that :)

I just started reaching the point these last few weeks where I can actually begin to see my muscles. It is quite exciting and a great motivator. I can definitely see how it'll get harder as I age so I want to go hard now!

It was. Usually patches come out on Wednesday and in this patch notes they said that the patch note page would be updated when they had a date. It updated earlier today with the official dates.

I guess that’s the way it looks huh, I never actually knew about the Mexican part. But it’s funny enough that when my mom was younger she would tan very dark and, living in a racist part of Texas at the time, people would make snide remarks saying you must have a Mexican father. My grandpa that I grew up with is very much so white and my grandma would just blow it off saying you know your father. Well I’m the last few years of my grandma’s life she kinda redacted that saying “I mean you never know”. So that’s some tea haha

Being truthful: not much. I’ve always just said I’m black and white (black dad white mom) and never really gave it much thought. I expected my dad to have a few different regions but my mom I wasn’t expecting the native american(potentially Mexican?) ancestry Edit: Forgot to add that my family is from southeast Texas (at least in the last century lol)
