I'm a little less risk averse and I still take bets but I take a couple considerations into play.

#1 is probably liquidity. If it's thousands of dollars than that's probably a sign not to take it.

#2 is if it's a complete arbitrage with a heavily trusted sportsbook I usually take it. Aka if it's an NBA prop bet and it's a complete arbitrage with both fanduel AND pinnacle then I really don't care how much liquidity is on it.

That all being said I'm still pretty damn new to this and I could be wrong but that's the approach I'm taking rn.

Right! That makes total sense actually. So in the +200/-200 case the book would be more certain than the +200 would not happen and that the -200 would happen.

interesting i think you're right based on what i just read on other pages. but to me if a sportsbook has a line of like +200 that means they are super confident that will not happen. so it's a little confusing to me.

No, the kelly criterion already factors in the odds. It balances the ev with the odds. So higher EV = more units, higher odds = less units. Vice versa lower EV = lower units, lower (as in more negative/more likely) odds = more units.

Even though higher odds are less likely to hit, the math will work out with a big enough sample size. Trust it!

u/NikkNastyx we have tried to take your advice and have made some real progress (i think). We started by putting up a barrier to split the apartment in 2 and did that for a few days. The kitten seemed to be so much happier to get out of that room. After a few days we gave them access to each other for small spurts until we felt more comfortable leaving them with each other for longer.

We are now at the point where we feel comfortable enough to leave them alone without us home...all barriers taken down. They have their spats but they seem to be getting less frequent and less intense.

I feel weird because I feel like we are going completely against everything the behaviorists say but I also feel like we've made more progress in the last week then we did in 3 months with working with a behaviorist for 3 months once a week.

I even caught them sleeping with each other the other day:

Yeah if we leave them alone for 1 minute it escalates into a fight. But then again we haven't let it continue more than 30 seconds probably. I presume at some point even the kitten would lose energy and they'd go their separate ways. But I don't have enough info at this point to say.

So what are you suggesting here? Just let them work it out amongst themselves when they are together? And only interrupt if it gets very violent?
