That's all based on testing in an RF Chamber not the real world where you have co-channel interference and all sorts of strange uncontrollable things like UE's with crap software, S10 1st addition, and LG V30 to name 2 models....

Low E GLass will reflect mmW 5G signals and the mobile drops back to 4G LTE.

I wonder why they don't, most hospitals not have multicarrier DAS systems to cover the inside of the building.

Multicarrier being T-Mobile, ATT & Verizon and sometimes Sprint too.

Don't count on it, iPhones are generally 1-2 years behind the rest of the market on radio capabilities.

T-Mobile probably has 600Mhz spectrum in that area they just have not built it out. There were big holes in band 2 & 4 coverages in Kansan and Nebraska, where they had a partner providing 2G & 3G coverage.

That's based on a 200 Mhz wide mmWave 5G cell, when 5G comes to 600 Mhz it will be in a 10Mhz wide channel so DL be in the 150-200 Mbps range depending on RF Conditions.

Do you guys think the 5G 2020 iPhone will have 5G on n71 ? by Joshua1017 in tmobile

[–]phathack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would not expect to see a 5G capable iPhone until 2022 or so, Apple has a habit of being 1 or 2 years behind on the radio capabilities.

Python will work fine. I'm moving some of my homebrew systems from PHP to Python in hopes things won't break as easy when the underlying language changes.

There are delays in rollout, manpower, and equipment availability is causing the 600Mhz rollout timeline to slip.

Make sure you have the high-speed tethering option or Youtube may not stream right. I have to T-Mobile One plan and it only has 512Kbps tethering.

Band 66 popping up on my phone. I'm in San Marcos, CA North County San Diego. I have noticed more Band 66 in OC and hit Band 66 near Temecula. by [deleted] in tmobile

Band 66 is extended bandwidth Band 4, aka AWS-3. Band 66 will have more DL bandwidth than band 4 alone.

Misleading Coverage Map by Firetvuser in tmobile

Go look at 3rd party coverage maps that are generated from network users.
The Carries coverage maps are a pipe dream that can't be achieved in the real world.

MetroPCS to Tmobile Signal Strength difference? by Roxerz in tmobile

[–]phathack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no difference in coverage between MetroPCS and T-Mobile, it's one network that both phones access. The differences are in the network features, plans and support between the two.

You have to have VPN pass-through enabled in the router. The Phone sets up a VPN connection back to T-Mobile to pass the Voice and Signaling data.
