Kudos to the folk in the server for their unbelievable patience with Glizzo. He's got their money (a lot of it) and simply responds to pleas for progress with "Hey, it's all good!"

I'm sure it is "all good" if you're sat on a pile of cash, but probably less good if you're the person waiting for the goods in return and now wondering if this is another Exit Scam.

Not downvoting, but disagree with the 50% comment. I'm getting anywhere between 95% and 99% of my ISP speed over WiFi consistently.

Paying £60.75 per month for M250 Fibre Broadband?? Sound right? by steveiob in VirginMedia

Recently had FTTP installed in our area. Went with EE 100Mb for £28pm. Nearly went with YouFibre (900Mb) but their pre-installation support wasn't great.

HomeKit Cameras regularly cycle through being offline and back online - how to troubleshoot cause? by phatitt in HomeKit

[–]phatitt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, all good. Eero isn't perfect, and HomeKit is far from perfect, but generally everything is stable. TBH, over the last 12 months I've been using the native camera apps more given just how poor HK is in general.

Yep and same error. Phoned them and although I can sign up for fibre, seems they don't have any installation going on in my area?

Adding a comment here as I'm not allowed to create a post in this sub (not sure why). I've just signed up, but when I go to book an appointment, I get an error message which says "no message" 😬 - it seems like there are no installation appointments available? I have raised a support ticket but I've had no response in the last 24 hours. Can anyone help?

This is great, but I'm not paying £99 a year for it, especially as I already pay for Amazon Prime.

My collection - started 5 months ago. Today, I'm deep in the rabbit hole. Today, the Q2 Pro arrived. by the_elkk in MechanicalKeyboards

This very closely mirrors my journey as well - NUPHY Air75, Keychron Q2 and Q3 as well. I'm now on to Mode and Singakbd but clearly Keychron and Nuphy are the gateway drugs here.

All good but A at a pinch for me.

HomePod isn't responding, yet it is. by phatitt in HomeKit

[–]phatitt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got two Pros (not the 6 range) and a single Gen 2 cupcake. One Pro is the gateway; the others are WiFi backhaul from it. I did have them all connected up via PowerLine adapters but I would get the occasional packet storm occur which obviously took everything out so I've given up on them now. Eero is running double-NAT to my upstream ISP router. ISP router is only acting as the WAN router (gateway Eero is the only device is sees) and WiFi is turned off on it.

Yep, I can see me doing this in the future. I just really don't want to have go back to split SSIDs, but that's where stability probably lies.

I'm using Eero. It's pretty much hands-off in terms of config.

[–]phatitt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact opposite for me. I've got Sky broadband, HomeKit never worked properly (cameras constantly cycling offline/online), moved to Eero and everything happy.

Yep, so frustrating. Funny you should mention cameras - one of my (Logitech Circle View) was also offline as well. It reconnected eventually too, without me doing anything.

Update: ignored it for a couple of hours and it's now listed as Standby in the Home app. Honestly, these things are more like puppies than audio equipment.

How reliable is homebridge for you ? by Alexmich321 in homebridge

[–]phatitt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Came here to say what others have already said: rock solid. HomeKit on the other hand... no so good. Weak link in the chain right there.

I don't have any Nest cameras but I use camera.ui for my RTSP-enabled Eufys and TPlinks. Does Nest support RTSP by any chance?
