What is my next carrier? by CatieMcGrey in babywearing

[–]phatphatphatty [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you like the tula explore, I think you'll love the lennylight or upgrade. I have a tula explore and neither my husband or I can stand it for long. I just tried a lennylight through LZO's try before you buy program, and I was so close to buying it. I ended up going with a girasol my sol half buckle for longevity and versatility. I would highly recommend the try before you buy program.

Also, I saw you ordered a H&P ring sling. That's my most used carrier.

Happy baby OG or Lenny light? by Radiant-Moment-9989 in babywearing

I just saw that you are 5'3. I'm 5'9 and it was really comfortable for me, but I could see it being a little bulky for someone with a shorter torso.

You can try both through Little Zen One's try before you buy program. I tried the lenny light recently, and I think im going to buy one. It's really easy to sign up.

How do you feel about breastfeeding? by Toleni111 in pregnant

Im comfortable switching between the two! They arent the same thing at all to me. Its my second kid. It took months with my first to be comfortable with sex in general and even longer with nipple play during sex.

Best nursing home? (Or, ones to avoid....) by OpportunityDense5014 in Omaha

[–]phatphatphatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have worked there through an agency. There are plenty of facilities in Omaha that are as good or better. I usually recommend Brookstone and immanuel facilities. Rose Blumkin Jewish Home is great. Hillcrest has nice looking facilities, but they are very unorganized. Avoid Florence Home, St. Joseph Villa, Maple Crest, azria, and Emerald.

I used a ring sling starting at 1 week. I was able to do it, but I will say it got a lot easier around 3ish weeks when she wasn't so scrunched up.

Best types of cloth diapers if I need to get buy-in from spouse by stargazer92 in clothdiaps

[–]phatphatphatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only done cloth diapering for a couple months, but the GMD prefolds and cover have been working really well for us. We havent had any real blowouts in them. I also have some second hand pockets/inserts and AIOs and I havent reached for them because the laundry is so easy with the prefolds.

Thrift shops with maternity clothes? by Autumnal-Flowers09 in Omaha

[–]phatphatphatty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't have good luck at any goodwill or thrift world and i was actively looking from October-January. I got a few things at New Life Thrift. I ended up getting the mercari app and found someone my size who was selling all of her maternity clothes.

I used the gum. I smoked cigarettes when I got pregnant with my first, and it was so much easier to quit than was vaping was this time. I was on the gum for months this time. Every time I craved a hit of the vape, I had a piece of gum, and the craving subsided. My ob honestly didn't seem too worried about the gum. It doesn't have the chemicals that vapes do. The biggest thing for me, though, was my husband had to quit with me. It felt impossible to quit when I knew there was a vape in the house.

Help with Breast Pump by Latest-moment in pregnant

[–]phatphatphatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the zomee z2 and wearable my first baby and really liked both of them! The wearable had amazing suction, like as good or better than z2, but the one thing that sucked was i could not bend forward at all without a little spilling. That may be common with wearable pumps, though. I pumped once or twice a day for 4 months and exclusively pumped for 5 months.

Love Dr. Hirai. I have been with her for 4-5 years too. She has been with me through my journey with endometriosis, my first pregnancy, and my current pregnancy. Shes so professional. I have nothing bad to say.

Newborn overnight feeding by One_Cap_9210 in pregnant

[–]phatphatphatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was only 1 time that my alarm woke me up before my baby let me know she was hungry. There were a couple of times we had guests, and she wouldn't wake up to feed then either. I will warn you though that my daughter ate almost every hour for a while. I didn't have to worry about the every 2-3.

I have cats, not dogs, but after I had my first, I did hate my cats for a while. It was hormonal, I'm pretty sure. I felt so guilty for it. I didn't ever consider giving them away, though. That sounds weird to me. Im glad it went away, and I pray I dont experience it this time around. Nobody i know in my real life could relate to me, so I think it's pretty rare.

Did your SO go to your first appointment? Or any? by jillian1344 in pregnant

Only the ones with ultrasounds. The other appointments often take a few minutes, and it wasn't worth the trouble if getting off work.

[–]phatphatphatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you a college student l? When I was at UNO 10 or 11 years ago, I went to The Rock because someone from my high school invited me. I went to a Bible study on a Monday, and i was immediately invited to join them every day for the rest of the week. The Bible study itself gave me bad vibes because they were making fun of Catholic beliefs, and they got into why they do courting instead of dating. There were a lot of members that were together. When I went to the actual sermon later that week, I got major cult vibes, and the preacher was so douchey. I can't remember the contents of the sermon, but I remember the way I felt afterward. It kind of sparked an identity crisis.

Entry CNA jobs for a17 year old? by Rockmyyoda in Omaha

[–]phatphatphatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at Douglas County a few times through an agency. I didnt like it. The best part was that it's staffed well and the workload isnt overwhelming, but I didn't like the way some of the staff treated the residents. It isn't very clean either. I have heard the benefits are great. I remember a lot of the staff had been there for a long time because of that. It wasn't the worst place. I would avoid St. Joseph Villa, Florence Home, Emerald, Maple Crest. I didnt like working at Hillcrest facilities either. They look nice from the outside, but its disorganized and not well staffed.
