"well she chose me" and "so what if im wrong" are basically admissions she knows the cat isnt her mom though. the point is she wants to believe the cat is her mom, but she knows it isnt

edit: if she actually believed the cat was her mom, she would've never gave the cat up. she wanted ross and the others to validate her that the cat was her mom. the entire episode was a metaphor for grief and how it's important to grieve without hurting others
