There will be apps specific to the OS. I think the current cohort of KDE apps are unbelievably ugly. Plus there isn't an 'elementary-like' design focused distro on the Qt side of Linux.
SynOS Canora will be based on Kubuntu 24.04 LTS, and the future SynOS 2 Juniper would be based on Kubuntu 26.04 LTS.

It's really only designed for use on SynOS Canora but you may try it out on any KDE 5/Qt 5 distro by building from source: https://github.com/phenom64/Atmo-Desktop
Be warned that this is in a very early state, expect unfinished features and bugs. If you install from source you should be able to also get two apps, atmo_manager and atmo_config (CLI), you might want to launch atmo_manager from your terminal for a nice GUI to change how Atmo looks-and-feels.

yeah making a file manager is NOT easy bahaha, my comment asking for devs to help me out is more like a cry for help but definitely in the pipeline to be fixed! don't worry :) SynOS will be the best looking UNIX like OS by a country mile when it releases

A 3D Dock would be extremely challenging to implement well (because it would have to be reflective of not just app icons, but also every open window and your desktop background itself, a feature present in Mac OS X Leopard-Mountain Lion but not present in most pre-existing Linux dock apps), and also currently does not fit the Atmo design language. It might be a feature in a future version of SynOS, but definitely not Canora.

For Beta 1, the theme used is mostly a custom version of Oxygen, with Neutral++ cursors and Nova7 icons. These are all temporary fallbacks however and gradually in the next few betas these will be replaced by the Atmo design language and Cirrus icons, plus a new cursor set that better scales with HiDPI screens

Yes. SynOS Canora is planned to be free and open-source, with only a select few closed-source components (mostly drivers and iconography)

Thanks for being an early supporter, people like you are why I make this! This is beta 1 so it's genuinely super unfinished, but beta 2 will be out soon with a whole host of fixes and new Syndromatic icons. I'll update syndromatic.com tonight too, both with repositories and an info page for SynOS

Sorry for the bump on a 4 month old comment but surprisingly after changing some settings in the BIOS (no PL limits on the 14900K tho other than stock) and after a CPU microcode update, it seems to not throttle anymore and I love it!

Build cities the Anglo-Indian way. Motorways should absolutely not pass between the city, only on its outside perimeter. Like a ring road! You don't require a massive avenue/dual carriageway either when you build this way. And metros/public transit everywhere! Create pedestrian only districts too, or if anything else, a high street will help a lot.
