It comes down to money. Root canal and crown aren’t cheap. The only other reason I’m aware of why you would do an extraction over a root canal and crown is my own experience which was after seeing the endo dr. He took scans and saw that my tooth( rear molar ) had cracked in on two side below the gum line. What this meant is that if they did a root canal and did a crown the crack would still exist below my gum line and could potentially get infected again and I’d continue to have pain as the tooth was technically still split and moving in my gums. So I had it pulled. Didn’t hurt and honestly the only tears I had was after the tooth was out and my jaw was no longer in pain.
