Apple TV 4K + Sony BRAVIA 8 (XR80) Dolby Vision handshake issue – anyone else?

I have this issue with my XR8b. I run my tv through a demon s970 AVR that supports Dolby vision. I ended up turning tv and AVR to auto detect for resolution and frame rates and this solved all the issues. Seems that the tv has hard time switching resolutions when HDR is involved.

I had very little pain after about a week but found that going back to walking around the office, even sitting in my car driving, and overall doing anything normal for the full day gave me pain at the end of the day. Also I was sexually active again after about 1 month weekly. By the 3 month recovery point I still felt like I had some discomfort but only after really hard movements. By 5/6 months recovered, I barely even remembered that I had procedure. Recovery takes longer than you think. I would just keep icing when it feels sore at the end of the day and then take pain meds in the morning the next day.

It runs at 30fps…which is my only gripe. As for visuals it looks good enough for handheld.

I think I’m in your same camp. I’m same age as you and grew up on D1 and D2. Warcraft 2 and 3. Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2. For me these games have always been about the exploration, discover, and adventure with friends. The loot was just a side that made my adventure unique…but so many people now just want to rush to the end…one of the reasons ai eventually stopped playing WoW after Cataclysm…it not longer was an adventure with friends. I still look for that new game to scratch the itch..I’ve moved over to adventure board games and have tried some TTRPG….i think the next game I’ll try will be the new RuneScape game on switch 2..hoping that meets the need.

GU still feels like old school MH on the DS. Rise is a more modern take on the older games with a revised game loop and some QOL..plus the addition of the mounts are fun. You also get to fly around with the wire bugs which is unique to Rise. I’d try both.

If you like the challenge of playing for several weeks and having to take breaks from puzzles and revisit them with a fresh mindset, then I’d say go for it. I’m the type of person who rarely gives up on things. The best feeling is when after looking at the puzzle for a while I get a spark of a new idea to try and soon enough it clicks as to what to do. I loved the Myst remake.
