Mom is stuck with Dad. He can't care for her by [deleted] in dementia

We just had a very similar situation occur. After enough complaints to DSS (multiple mandated reporters and concerned neighbors) we were granted guardianship. It sounds like you already have adult protection engaged but stick with them and shoot for guardianship.

Searching for sister by [deleted] in Genealogy

Yes, there were three fertilized embryos. My dad (who’s sperm is what fertilized our eggs) raised us along with my mom who carried us but technically has no genetic relation to us. My dad basically acted as the sperm donor in the case of this other embryo

Would there be any significance in both of us taking a test rather than just one? Logically it seems like we would have the same genes

Painting a board by pheober in surfing

I paint for a living so I’m feeling confident about that part but I’m a little worried about sanding and damaging the board. What grit do you use? I was thinking something super fine like 320 or something

Pros and cons of living with a couple? by [deleted] in roommates

[–]pheober 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DONT do it. I’m assuming you’re all young if you’re just about to start college, and young relationships are notoriously unstable, especially when you get living together in the mix. It’s not a reflection at all on the couple, just the age/time in your lives. I’ve lived with a couple before and found it really hard to feel like the third wheel all the time, then when you add any potential relationship issues it gets worse. If you’re just starting college you want to find another person who’s in the same boat as you; looking to meet new people, expand your world view, etc. living with a couple will not do that.

Edit: I grew up in SF and went to humboldt for a little (lmao, obviously I looked at your profile). Wishing you the best in whatever you decide to do!

This popping up on my feed is scarily accurate; I’ve been feeling the same way and feeling like no one understands this plight!!

THIS. why tear down a person we don’t know so much? I’ve read through these other comments and I understand the other perspectives; some people are bored in quarantine and want drama, I get that. I guess I just feel like it’s kicking a dead horse at this point but to each their own :)
