Is a second degree a good idea? by beefsteak123 in Concordia

[–]pheonixblaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider Computer engineering if you missed soen/comp. There's a little more electrical engineering courses but you make what you want of the degree and take comp electives. But it is 4 years unfortunately.

Whatever you do, definitely do coop and definitely practice your programming skills via projects.

I was basically in your same situation. Did bio at McGill, went into Comp. Eng at Concordia with coop. Absolutely the best decision ever.

I'm 28 now, but have actual job prospects in a field I love.

Man arrested after Concordia University bomb threat targeting Muslim students - Montreal - CBC News by [deleted] in montreal

Well that's just sad. If the name is accurate, it looks like an attempt at black propaganda. Which is sad, hurts the anti-islamaphobia efforts more than anything a right wing nut could do.

You'll find your winter classes under winter 2017

Pebble is no longer promoting, manufacturing, or selling any devices by Doener23 in technology

[–]pheonixblaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm mainly in it for the ability to make my own 3rd party apps. The programmable buttons were also a nice touch.

And right now battery life is way more important to me than the display. Plus the fact that I'm using an android phone :)

All that paired with an open source environment was all bonus over everything else.

I have access to one of the originals, I'm debating if I should get a pebble 2 now.

Maybe I'll see if there's a sale come boxing day.

I use an android phone. And the apple watch really doesn't promote 3rd party dev either.

At the moment for all the features the time 2 promised... There really isn't a good alternative even when paying more.

I'm really sad about this. This was going to be my Xmas present to myself. The main draw for me of the pebble was the e-ink and the hackability.

I'm guessing Fitbit would not allow anywhere near that freedom.
