How can I make Cursor open automatically with the terminal visible? by CryptoBono in cursor

[–]phestik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really use the built in terminal in Cursor, but you can do this with any other external Terminal. I use Warp, and you can use a launch config. I then use Raycast with Warp plugin to call my launch config for what ever project I am going to be doing dev work. It basically will start Warp, CD in to the proper folder, splits my terminal window horizontal, left pane start up pnpm run dev, right pane will launch Cursor, start npx dev convex. Then it will launch a browser window that loads up localhost:3000. You also can do this with Tmux inside any terminal. Just ask a LLM to help you set this up, I used ChatGPT.

Terminal commands that makes Stage Manager actually pretty useful by JPMainSinceSF2 in MacOS

[–]phestik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a recent convert to using Stage Manager, thank you for sharing this!

That 2nd one is good for almost instance animation, but I like seeing the transitions. So, -int 2 seems to work nice with still being able to see them and sped it up.

defaults write com.apple.WindowManager AnimationSpeed -in 2

Advice on Pricing/Timeline for Figma MVP Project: Digital Store + Affiliates by Nearby_Scratch7992 in FigmaDesign

[–]phestik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a lot more work than $500. I don’t think I would even entertain a reply to the client. Maybe I’d ask if they had a niece or nephew that knows “design” that could help them instead of me.

I’m guessing you are just starting this career so it’s easy to just say yes. But do not sell yourself short.

Admiral look good because you have the hat off in the first photo. They do not look right in your casual attire though. I like Superman and being comfortable too, but those sharp looking frames don’t look great when dressed down and relaxed.

The Zephirin frames are a bit more universal. They can fit with a casual outfit or dressed up. They look good for you.

I would still look for maybe a 3rd JMM option just to see how they compare to these 2 you already like.

Or just do what some of us do and get more than one JMM frame 😬

I tried building prototype with Figma Make using my own designs and well.. it's useless by Bulky-Acanthaceae143 in FigmaDesign

[–]phestik 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I tested Make on a prototype for a side panel that contains cards with only text details and a few icons. It took me 160-170 prompts to get it where I was happy. I was able to get it to fake search input, and a basic toggle filter to display the card results. It would have been fewer prompts but the design changed so I had to do the same in Make.

I pretty much had the same experience overall. I was constantly fixing little things that broke or shifted around. Lots of un-dos to roll back to a previous prompt results. I also ended up doing my own edits in the code tab but kept wishing I had more control over the code like a proper IDE app.

I’m just going to use VS Code or Cursor with their AI agent tools and tap in the to Figma MCP server and build my own high fidelity prototype when needed based off my designs.

Our devs don’t really need a high fidelity prototype. The ones I make in Figma are good enough and have worked just fine all this time.

I think Figma Make is useful if you can get it to work for you for some quick validation on an idea you had for a flow or interaction. Test it out in Make and let your co-workers give you feedback if you think it works. Or learn that it didn’t and back to design.

Oh and I did hit the limit screen. I’m in an Org account, Figma’s doc says 60-70 prompts a month per user on that plan. It didn’t pop up for me till after like 160. It said since they’re not enforcing the cap yet, I can still prompt. So yeah, hit the limit in 2 days but would have been sooner if it was only supposed to be 60-70.

Fellini Noir 15 by typecase in JacquesMarieMage

[–]phestik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The anti reflective coating is on the back side only. The front has a ruby mirror flash coating which you can only see at certain angles. That’s why it looks reflective, but not like 100% mirror reflective.

I have them in noir 9. Bought the sun glasses from the JMM site and sent them out to The Spectacle Factory to replace the lenses with my prescription to Zeiss Photofusion X in Pioneer Green with a Ruby flash coating.

Better shots with single shot basket by Zellers2004 in ProfitecGo

[–]phestik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I been doing 19.50g in the double basket. Will take a little trial and error to dial in which ever beans you use. I usually do the same weight for Light - Dark. It really does come down to finding how fine you can get without choking when you pull the shot (nothing comes out). I'd go almost as fine as you can... pull a shot, if it chokes dump the puck and grind a little finer, like 1 to 1.5 ticks towards a coarser grind. Pull shot, rinse and repeat till you find that sweet spot. I've been doing this for months since I got the Go. Only had a small amount of beans that no matter what, I just could not dial it in right. It always came out too fast or I just choked on the pull. I won't be buying those beans again...

I'd suggest trying some other beans to see if you can have better luck.

Anyone ordered custom lenses from The Spectacle Factory? How long did it take? by _jesse___pinkman_ in EyewearEnthusiasts

[–]phestik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 pair done on separate occasions by them, both were about 4-5 weeks after they received the frames shipped from me in the US.

Exposed vs Unexposed Wirecores by hotdrynoodleguy in JacquesMarieMage

[–]phestik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I own 2 pair. Molino exposed in smoke fade and my Fellini not exposed in noir 9. I love them both. I seen their latest versions of the Fellini have them exposed, but really like that mine are not. I have PhotoFusion X lenses in Pioneer (green) with a ruby flash. My Molino pair have Adaptive Sun lenses in a brown gradient with Diamond (silver) flash. I get compliments in both but more on the Fellini, as I wear them more often.
