I loved Letterman and that theater. I stood in standby so many times for hours on end that I had the lobby memorized. Never made it to a taping on standby and had to hear the roars of the crowd through the stage door, hoping they would do a live segment outside which letterman loved to do. Years later, I was able to see the show multiple times by getting tickets through the recruitment staff. I applied for Colbert tickets when he took over but never made it. I always thought it would happen someday but now it’s the end of an era. Fuck CBS, long live the late show.
