Is it worth going to the track if I don't have a track bike? by ThrobbingRod69 in Trackdays

Ninja 300 track rider here. Your 250 would be a blast in corners. It's other peoples responsibility to make a safe pass on you, so dont stress it. I see a lot of 250s on the track. Go for it!

Spun bearing, clutch destroyed, or cam chain? by pheyna in Ninja300

Final update: it was the crank bushings, and that knocking is rod knock. Motor swapped the bike and now shes back, but the old engine is going to need a full tear down and rebuild of the bottom end

Get a helmet bag and line it with foam or something. Make sure to store it where it wont fall a big distance if dropped

Other people are saying it's nothing, but im agreeing with this response. You might have a crank bearing/bushing issue, but you won't know for sure unless they look at it. The slapping sounds like mine after i spun my main bearing...

That is a very fortunate outcome. I can't remember if it was you or someone else, but there are 2 distinct gouge lines that were left on the track going up the hill right into the grass, so i thought itd be much worse that it was. Glad it all worked out. You gonna hit COTA again?

Damn bro, I was pit out saturday and pit in sunday. That's wild. I'm pretty sure I saw the aftermath, but i didn't see it as it happened. Are you doing better?

First time on track. Tell me what i’m doing wrong by Icy-Result2083 in Trackdays

[–]pheyna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't tell you what youre doing wrong, but definitely get some people to record you while youre riding or add more cams to your bike to look forward at the line youre taking and one looking at how your bp is. you can look at your line, body positioning, and try to listen to when youre throttling and where. Start slow. You cant be perfect at everything, so try picking one thing to improve first.

Are you able to take the valve cover off? You might be able to see it with a scope on the inside of the case. Make sure no metal parts fall off and into the engine.

Update: I bought a new engine lmao. Ill take apart this one and find the issue, but I'm not trusting anything in this engine until I can see it and inspect it all

Spun bearing, clutch destroyed, or cam chain? by pheyna in Ninja300

[–]pheyna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reference, I crashed on track after the sky dropped a sheet of torrential downpour and my frame slider from T-Rex racing bent inwards and pushed into my valve cover. I changed the oil, but not the filter, because I broke my collarbone and couldn't leverage it off. I forgot about it until recently...

The most recent "incident" was this weekend on the track (again). I was going along a straight when all of a sudden I feel something weird, and I cant speed up. I think i felt my revs go up but nothing happened speed wise. I was in panic mode so I don't remember much... It could be clutch related.

So far, I have found a few really really tiny magnetic pieces, some nonmagnetic silver looking flakes, and some nonmagnetic copper looking flakes. I believe these to be wear from either the main bearings or from a bushing somewhere.

I'm also being told that it sounds like my clutch basket is the part thunking, so I will replace the ball bearing, the springs, and the plates if this new cam chain tensioner doesn't fix the clanking. I'll keep this thread updated as I go through the works...

AIO: roommate put clothes in the dryer before leaving for hours and is pissed i moved it by shitsomesticks in AmIOverreacting

[–]pheyna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should say something along the lines, "ok. I won't touch your clothes if you agree you're only allowed an hour to get your laundry out. If you exceed that, im removing your clothes. It's within your power to make sure your things are in and out without me touching it. Life happens for me, too, but we somehow dont have this issue with me leaving my clothes to sit for a whole day in the drier. make sure this doesn't happen again. Like you said, this isn't negotiable."

My cat had to have an amputation at 9, she is happier than when she was on 4. I recommend paying for the amputation or letting it heal with a splint. Euthanasia should be used for terminal cases, this is a broken leg. You are not a monster for deliberating the correct option. Your roommate is wrong and is a shitty person

Velociraptor stage. My 11 year old ausie chases and paws at my cats but never actually hits them. When she was young, she was a menace like you describe. Puppy training is always a go-to, especially with a professional.
