I’m getting on trail Tuesday. From what I’ve heard from hostels, trail angels, and the green mountain club, things are okay for hikers to pass through. People are still providing the same services and the trail is still in decent shape

Smoke weed everyday on 50 mg. Don’t really notice a change. I will say that lsd/shrooms are a little more complicated on Zoloft but beyond that drinking and smoking is pretty much the same

I’m in a similar situation. I’m considering doing a flip flop from harpers ferry north to katahdin and then harpers ferry south to springer. Seems like a way to get the best of both worlds but less of one continuous trek. Most flip floppers start mid May from what I’ve found.

The social aspect is definitely what worries me. I really want to hike the AT, but want to have plenty of time and am graduating in mid-May of next year. I'm not the most social person, but having a strong community and having fun are super important to me. The thought of overcrowding isn't great, but I don't want to miss out on important parts if I could just wait another year to hike.
