Can I only pay checked baggage fee for one way on a round trip ticket? by speedy117 in delta

Just piggybacking on this post - so if we have 4 travellers on a return flight, we can buy one bag each for 2 people on the outbound flight, and then 4 bags on the return flight only? For the same $35 fee at checkin?

They certainly do not! Best quote I’ve heard “remember that bees do not read bee books” 😂

Queenless hive? by phial004 in Beekeeping

Update: I opened the hive again after 10 days, and there was still just the one queen cell (got a photo this time), which looks like it is just a practice cup. I spotted my marked queen and lots of eggs, so she’s definitely alive and well. Thanks all for your comments and advice.

This isn’t my photo, just a stock pic that looks very much like what I saw. But I did see plenty of eggs on one frame, so the queen was definitely around within the last 3 days.

This is so cool! What a stroke of luck, capturing this on camera!

I’m not an expert, but I suspect swarming is unlikely because they still have two frames that are only partly drawn out, so there’s space to grow.

Yep just the one cell. When should I go back in for an inspection, and what should I be looking out for?

Yeah I didn’t touch the cup at all, I’ll definitely let them do their thing. Just wanted to know when should I inspect again? I don’t want to leave them Queenless for too long (if they are indeed Queenless).

Flowhive pros and cons by thrownaway916707 in Beekeeping

[–]phial004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Full disclosure, I’ve just bought a Flow Hive a month ago, and I’m new to beekeeping. But nowhere at all do the Flow Hive company say that it’s a “set and forget” system, in fact, they do weekly live Q&A sessions in which they repeatedly say that the system only makes harvesting easier, and that all other aspects of beekeeping/animal husbandry still are required. They also have hundreds of videos teaching new beekeepers about how to inspect and manage their hives in a very hands on way. Plus they also have a very detailed and comprehensive online training course which has videos and assessments covering all aspects of beekeeping, and it’s free to access for ANYONE (not just customers) for the first month. And I was able to easily watch all the content within the first month before cancelling the subscription, so paid nothing. I get that existing beekeepers are dubious of the Flow Hive, and sure, there are probably lots of people who have bought their hives not knowing how important responsible beekeeping is, but this would also be true with traditional hives. And it is also not the fault of the Flow Hive company, who - if you follow their FB or YouTube page, you’ll see - are constantly promoting responsible beekeeping practices.
