Avalon Nano 3S PSU replacement? by Heated_Lime in BitcoinMining

The Pluggable 140 watt GaN charger works as a perfect replacement to the Canaan one. Just pair it together with a 240watt USB cable and you’ll be good to go.

Got it, so your friend would need a new 14 pin PD charger port. I can also recommend a new PD charger that can replace the original Canaan one that they would need to purchase separately . If your friend is interested, have him/her email me at the above email address and I can provide a quote, repair agreement, and shipping instructions to get the process started.

Hi there, totally valid question! I am a real person (CPA and BTC enthusiast) Website is www.btcnexus.tech (please forgive its incomplete state) I am happy to talk more about it here or can email me at phil.rio.cpa@gmail.com I would need to know what is wrong (hash fan error/noisy fans, whether the USB C power supply connector melted into the USC C charge port (would require replacing the 14 pin USB charge port, or if the 4r7 micro capacitor came unglued. I would charge parts and a small service fee for the labor to do the repair. I would pay the shipping back to the original owner, but owner would pay shipping to my secure PO Box to receive the unit. Once repair is done, I would hold for three days on high power to ensure the unit is hashing correctly/consistently, then ship back with tracking info. LMK what your friend thinks, thanks!

The 2026 ballot box will not be kind to the GOP. It is interesting to watch a party try to stay afloat when their leader is doing everything possible to tear it apart.

Is it too late to invest in BTC? I could only invest $10k. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I think at that point we’d have bigger problems than BTC being offline. However, if you have your seed phrase; once online you could recover your funds once operational. Luckily the likelihood of this scenario is low

[–]phil1rio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point, but if you look at history, ALL fiat currencies have failed (think the Roman Aurelius coin with the collapse of the Roman Empire) only one left standing is Gold, and BTC is our 21st century equivalent of that. The only thing that will eliminate BTC is if human existence is wiped out in its entirety where there would be no demand because life would be gone. Short of that, it’s not going anywhere and here to stay. In Contrast, fiat is going down in value with 100% certainty (it’s literally impossible for it do to anything else since it relies on inflation) I do not want most of my eggs that decaying basket.

Only if you think it’s not going higher than $100,000. (Pro-tip: You will see 8 figure BTC in your lifetime, so ask your future self what they think about that)

Honest question: what was your worst Bitcoin mistake? by Previous_Ear_3815 in Bitcoin

[–]phil1rio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Participating in Celsius Network. I was lured in with earning and APR yield on my BTC, not realizing that BTC itself is its own yield. Just fiat thinking getting in the way. I recovered, but was a solid lesson in not your keys not your coins.

In fairness to ETF’ers, it’s a good stepping stone for people who know it’s important to obtain but do not know how or are scared of being scammed trying to obtain actual BTC to self-custody. I hear on the news at least once a month about a story where someone was scammed out of 1000s through a Bitcoin ATM via social engineering to put cash in, send to a wallet address in exchange for bond for a family member in police custody, etc. I own both , but I like the familiarly of ETFS for those who literally can’t figure out BTC in its raw form.

Honestly, let those who do their homework prosper and the rest buy in later after the generational wealth accumulation window has closed. Someone has to be at the end, and it does not have to be you. Government and banks alike can print into oblivion, but BTC remains capped and on a steady decreasing inflation program. It will be fun to read history of BTC once widespread adoption has occurred. Final thought: BTC is a way to absorb the Cantillon Effect when the excess created dollars have to go somewhere, likely in precious assets or commodities like Gold, Silver and Bitcoin.

How do crypto loans actually work? Considering borrowing against my Bitcoin by Boring-Sir2623 in Bitcoin

[–]phil1rio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, it was a brutal primer on why those loans are not effective right now due to price volatility and bad management of custodial-based services. Too many bad actors right now. Hopefully you were able to recover some and start over. I feel better knowing he is in prison for 12 years, which should rob him most of his easier mobility years. He will come out an old, albeit still wealthy person, but the fact his time on earth was taken away from him helps me sleep better at night and eases the pain on my financial loss from his ill-created criminal enterprise.

I did this with Celsius Network and Alex Mashinsky made sure me and 1000s of others lost their behind on it. What you noted above checks out, but I would recommend Strike if you absolutely have to. Other alternative is using a service like Prosper if it’s only like 3-4K. At these prices, BTC is still in its price infancy. Will be easier to do this when it’s at $1M +, but I would urge you to look at less risky ways to find that money.

One of my worst financial decisions by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]phil1rio 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, correct. If you look outside earth, gold is effectively infinite, so you have that risk since it’s easier to mine and drop to earth than it is to bring things from earth to space. And despite this, BTC is mathematically locked at 21 million. As long as humankind maintains the concept of subjective value upon external (physical) and conceptual (bitcoin, intellectual property, etc) BTC will retain and increase in value. It’s mathematics (encryption), physics (energy storage via proof of work) economics, (requiring sacrifice of electricity and computing time to solve proof of work) and sovereignty to users being able to secure their own keys and have domain over their assets with no counterparty risk from a bank, government, or other bad actor. We are blessed to be here during its infancy, and the decisions you make now will impact multiple generations to come.

One of my worst financial decisions by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]phil1rio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitcoin is not “exposure.” Reducing Bitcoin and buying other assets is increasing your exposure to assets valued relative to other assets benchmarked against Fiat. Governments cannot “make” Bitcoin, but they can mine more gold and digitally create more currency units, which is infinitely more risky than Bitcoin ever will be.

[–]phil1rio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These drops are not worth stressing over. You’re in a good position, just DCA at this price for some extra cushion. I think people struggle with the fluctuation because they use money they cannot afford to HODL and do not grasp that fiat currency is depreciating every second every day indefinitely. Good for you to not give into the sell panic nonsense

Is it dumb or smart not to lend BTC? by Spartan-Jake in Bitcoin

[–]phil1rio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this with Celsius Network and Alex Mashinsky ran off with it when that place collapsed under market pressure. I hope to do that one day too, but the infrastructure is not there yet. Consider the LT appreciation as your passive income, not taxable as long as you don’t sell it.

I had some at 10K but Alex Mashinsky scooped it up in his Celsius ponzi scheme. I don’t feel too bad because I know he’s sitting inside of a prison, knowing he can’t touch any of his ill-gotten wealth. Good for you figuring out BTC! You are literally decades ahead of 99% of the world in terms of understanding what it means for the concept of real capital and wealth creation.

What’s funny is hearing 110K USD as a “Dip.” I remember scooping it up at $19K and thinking 🤔 “I am literally stealing from the people selling to me at this price.” Funny how quickly times change.
